I would understand the angst if it was coming from Cameroon lol. Sure the narrative of both Embiid and Siakam playing for Cameroon would be positive. But France getting mad, is like counting the eggs before they hatch and getting mad at the chicken

I thought they already completed buying the team.

Not surprised and was honestly only a matter of time before this started happening across all sports:

I can understand this decision, while also agreeing with some that might think it was a small sample size. NIL changed the landscape and guys weren't coming in any more developed than 1 year college guys

Yeah I agree it was time for it to go. NIL changed everything for the good in my opinion.

It's only meant to help the college game not prospects/future NBA players.

Maybe this will help that other semi-pro league that the Thompson twins & Dominic Barlow were a part of?

It also doesn't help that some of the current players on the G-League Ignite have seen their stock fall. But can that be attributed to the players, the environment or injuries? Or some of all three?

For most of the top guys, you could get a bigger bag through NIL than what they would get through G-League and with less commitment(think you have to do 2 years in G-League). Plus it's hard to develop those young guys and win games. They're playing against Grown men who either fighting to get to the NBA or feed their families .

There's still a place for semi-pro leagues. There's always going to guys who don't want the college experience

The group that was backing them previously dropped out, they had to find new backers.

You could develop in the G-League since that’s what the primary focus of that has always been so I don’t really follow the part about it being hard to develop the young guys and win games. Idk, while I’m cool with seeing college guys get paid, I’m not gonna act like I’m ok with everything else that seems to come with it.

Still thought it could’ve served a purpose but I’m not going to pretend like I’m bothered by the decision or that it was time for it go.

I can agree with that. The record shouldn't be an issue. Yes, they're 2-28. But, the main priority was to develop young talent and put them in a professional environment and structure. NIL does play a part. Money is no longer a major attraction to G-League when NIL is involved in College. I don't know whether the NBA wanted to keep investing money into it anymore or what the ultimate goal was.

I'm not really moved either way by it being end.

I say get rid of the one and done rule but allow them to re enter the draft again if they don’t sign or go undrafted like what MLB does.
