Why live in the "LA shadow" when you could just call yourself the California Clippers? Sure, we have Golden State already, but that's just a nickname anyways.

Instead of just being LA team #2, that at least makes you feel somewhat different.
They’d still be in that shadow though even if they called themselves the California Clippers or Inglewood Clippers. Only a Championship could *maybe* change that.

The name change is irrelevant though because it’s not like it’ll make folks forget about the past, as much as the team tries to make people do. Hell, we’ve been in Brooklyn for 12 years now and people still refer to us as “New Jersey” and/or still bring up the Jersey past.

Never has and never will happen. They would never embarrass the refs like that, even if they deserve it.

Shaq daughter on Inside the NBA.

Next to him, she seems like a normal sized 18 year old next to her dad.

Then you remember how big Shaq is and that his daughter is Chuck's height!

Raptors re-sign Olynyk to a 2 year deal at about 13m per year. He'll be 35 by time that deal is done, don't see him doing much after that unless someone just signs him for nothing to go ring chasing.

They have Boucher also for 1 more year so we'll see if they keep both as backup bigs or just deal Boucher in the offseason.

Who starts that mess? Is it a big market rumor to force this thinking on him by having reporters ask questions even though he's still in his rookie scaled contract? What ****ing nonsense. He would be cutting himself out of Max deals

Yeah that seems premature. As long as the argument against that one in particular isn't: "why would he ever want to leave San Antonio and Pop?? That's insane!" It's not insane, clearly lol.

That's literally the media's job. Do things to get people talking, even if it's the most ridiculous takes.

Can't imagine what the takes were like when LeBron broke in.

"Cavs finished 1 game out of the playoffs but only had 35 wins (were those East days ever horrible or what!?), does LeBron think the Cavs could've made noise in the playoffs or would he be better suited on a winning team?"

                        Next year

"Cavs won 42 games but missed playoffs due to tiebreaker. Would next year be 3 strikes and you're out for the Cavs if you're LeBron? Should he go elsewhere before his career gets wasted?"

I remember when right when Zion got drafted, Windy was pushing the “Could Zion not report to New Orleans and demand a trade to NY?”

I mean I get why the Silver/League embrace stuff like that even though I hate that’s pretty much what the league is about.

I could see if it's year 3 and the team is still looking this bad, then they/we are probably ****ed.

I'm not worried about him 'losing patience' after 55 ****ing games, man.

The Spurs had a disgruntled superstar leave town less than 10 years ago, so the idea of him eventually leaving (if they don't improve quick enough) isn't farfetched.

And Pop is old as hell, so he likely won't be around if or when the team 'needs' to be good. Pop should use the next year or two to finally find a successor, anyway.

I guess being in the stretch run of the regular season just isn’t exciting enough to talk about for ESPN that they go to summertime rumors and gossip.
