What is good is having a team of young players with “potential” if the culture sucks and you have no identity/plan?

Your plan just can’t be “Let the young guy plays/grow out of their mistakes” if they’re not learning how to be Professionals. Developing/Building a good Culture goes beyond the court as well. I hope they figure it out though.

I don't disagree. But they don't have legitimate PG to run a competent offense or the rim protection needed imo to make a jump yet. To me that's what's needed. So you're right there's no direction. But I don't blame the culture for that. They just don't have the pieces to do anything.

For what it's worth I don't think alot of teams have solid plans. I like the Rockets ceiling more then alot of other teams.

I love that LeBron is overshadowing Super Bowl week. Basketball was my first love when it comes to sports anyways.

What's the difference between the Rockets and say the Thunder?

I agree with what everyone here is saying. Their best basketball was after Paul Silas passed. They played really well for like 5-6 games right there.

The Thunder have Shai. That's the difference. Shai is basically unstoppable and he opens things up for everyone. And now Giddey is a budding star. It's true they bought in too. But they have because they have a leader. Thunder would be just as bad as the Rockets without him.

I love that LeBron is overshadowing Super Bowl week. Basketball was my first love when it comes to sports anyways.

You must have a low bar because it doesn’t take much to overshadow the week leading up to the Super Bowl.

But they aren't trying to compete either. Not saying the players aren't. But my opinion is. It doesn't matter if they bought in or not. They have no leader. No superstar YET. No point guard, no direction. That's more so on the Front office. But I believe they are tanking for Scoot or Viktor.

Regardless they need a real point guard to direct the team. KPJ isn't it. I guarantee they are tanking all the way to get Victor or Scoot.Then they can trade some of their assets grab some free agents and field a competitive team.

I think Pack was basically saying it’s on the front office this whole time though. Not having leadership at the payer level, coach level, management level, that’s the front office.

It’s just one of those things where at some point it doesn’t matter how much talent you have or who you tank for, you can’t just be content with building and teaching losing habits just to get “talent” year after year after year.

If they nail this draft with one of those top 3 guys I think this almost has to be the off-season where they start taking steps towards improving in that regard. They can’t go into year 4 year 5 of having no clue what they are doing other than sucking bad enough to get a decent pick. That is going to leave them in a spot where it doesn’t really matter who they draft. No direction, no identity.
