Remember, they also changed GMs during the season too but I get what you’re saying.

Better to get a head start on it and seeing which guys you can move forward with instead of waiting til the summer.

Wasn't it a team like Minnesota that hired someone from the Raptors a few years ago.

Especially this late into the season for a team in the playoff hunt. Such an odd situation. They may have underachieved, but it wasn't like the expectations were super high to begin with. Obviously there were off the court issues, but it'd make more sense to have an intern coach for the rest of this season. Even for Snyder, it doesn't make as much sense now to jump in. Unless he was dead set on the Hawks, why not wait and access the market after the season. Heck, I can see the Sixers job opening this offseason if they don't make it outside of the 2nd round. Spurs likely opening, I don't see Pop continuing ok, especially with the team being so bad. Houston is another option.

The team being able to play this kind of defense with so little time together is really nice. If AD gets back to being able to hit spin and fade middies consistently then he becomes unguardable again.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

I agree with Pack just get it over with. This style rarely happens. Sometime as a coach you have your guys and rotations. Trying to establish that this late is kind of hard. But I guess that's what being a pro coach is. Win no matter what.

I feel like KAT has been out the entire season lol.

The weird thing to me is 5 years? I'm assuming their was an interview process that went amazing or something for him. Because they basically just committed to him regardless of fit and will likely be moving on from players rather than him if things don't work. Nate had singed for 4 years, Snyder now 5. They can't do this again and be paying 3 head coaches 2-3 years from now.

Have you ever gone through the NBA hire process? It's perfect insane. Even the first document you fill out ask a lot of questions about nepotism and any knowledge anyone within the company. There was definitely a process. They protect themselves legal situations like crazy.

Kings-Thunder going back and forth with 3 pointers only. Great game.

Obviously there is a process I just meant for them to give him 5 years on the spot before seeing him with the team something had to have gone incredibly well there. They basically just put him above all the players with that move.

Of course they can. Not like those years are guaranteed or mandatory.

Teams do it all the time, especially the ones that aren’t ran that good, lol. Owners will cry about doing it…but they still end up doing it because it’s better than the alternative(Threatening to go to Court).

I really thought that Snyder might take over for Pop next season. I agree with the sentiment that he is elevated above every player on that squad now including Trae. If Trae can't mesh with Snyder, then next time Trae is the one who will be out.

Sorta different though. Beilein agreed to leave and give up all the guaranteed money, and Lue had a team option on his final year. So it’s not like they were paying 3 massive coach contracts for 2-3 years in a row.
