If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :) -

Originally posted by SportsmanTOHere's why the NBA is doing this:
- HS'ers are a crapshoot, for every Kobe Bryant there's a korleone Young, for every T-Mac there's a Leon Smith
- HS'ers usually take 2-3 yrs before they can make a huge impact on their team
- HS'ers don't have a very polished game (for the most part) and have to be coached more then the other players. If they went to college they'd get the coaching they need
- finally, HS'ers are immature for the most part. They don't have the stamina or the willpower to go through the rigours of an NBA season without some kind of trouble whether it be personal or emotional.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Re: NBA to have age limit as soon as next year (20 yrs. old)
HS'ers generally have never played out of state for lengthy period of time. They still have to have some kind of education as well. I remember when T-Mac was with the Raptors he still had to do some studies. The emotional toll of being on the road for half the year or more is hard on a typical NBA'er much less a teenager.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

1. Most time to refine your game.
2. Learn to mature and grow
3. You still getg to make your money in 2 or 3 years while you are parting away at schoolOriginally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.

Originally posted by jmood88Since when do they have to be superstars? They are still in the league so they have done well enough to get signed. As for the ones who aren't, they are rare. There's still lebron, kobe, tmac, kevin garnett, dirk nowitzki, peja stoyakovich, almost every european player in the league. The one's still in the league far outnumber the one's who aren't in the league anymore.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Originally posted by BranklesHow? If a team wants to improve that year, then they can draft a 4 year senior if they wanted to... it's not like High Schoolers all of the sudden kick the best college players out of the draft...
This rule does not improve the quality of talent in the NBA. Why the NBA wants to do this, unless they have a deal going with the NCAA, is beyond me...
Holla
They players weren't opposed to this before, because HS players took forever to really accomplish things in the NBA. Now, kids like LeBron James are starting to take ENDORSEMENT dollars away from the stars, and all of a sudden, its a problem....
The players didn't agree to this because they want to help HS kids. They're agreeing to it because they FEAR them.Comment

Originally posted by jmood88Where are the 50 high school players who have trouble adjusting? There has only been 29 high school players drafted. High school players don't enter the draft unless they know that they are going to be drafted in the first round. And do you think that nba coaches don't care about winning? You don't know what you're talking about then.
Originally posted by Skins4LifeAs for some guys who didnt make it, like I said I dont keep track, but here are a few:
Lenny Cooke
Taj McDavid
Ellis Richardson
Tony Ke
D'Angelo Collins
Korleone Young

Kendrick Perkins

Where did I say NBA coaches dont care about winning. THat was my whole point, if they care about winning they are going to get the best playersLast edited by Skins4Life; 03-06-2005, 02:36 PM.Comment
