Not fully surprised that the Pistons are up at half. Sixers have to play complementary on both ends without Embiid and George. Sixers offense has looked so disorganized and undisciplined on defense.

Raptors retiring VCs jersey tonight. I think it's gonna be shown on NBAs site/channels too but I'm not sure.

This is also around the time of their first game anniversary which works out for their 30th season to be doing all of this. Although would've been better with a Sunday afternoon game but that's not on the schedule. One thing I remember a lot about the VC era were all those Sunday afternoon home games.

I think it's also just the fact that the city as a whole is pushing the real fans away. More and more people going to games aren't even the real fans, it's the ones going because they either got free tickets/corporate deal, or the people who do buy it, especially for a game like this, are doing so because of the opponent more than the actual home team (especially in a "rebuilding season").

Raptors crowds used to be one of the best in the NBA, even the dark years they were still doing real good attendance wise because tickets were affordable and they weren't "mainstream" within their own city. After the title season, demand went up and prices went way up and haven't looked back since.

City is also getting more filled with "bandwagoners" who move to the city. The amount of Yankees and Lakers hats I see on the streets, you can tell they didn't grow up around the local teams.

That's my long rant on the state of sports in this city.

It's early November and I'm all for Embiid and George coming back 100%, but man the Sixers are a hard watch. With this upcoming 3 game West Coast trip, Sixers can easily start the season 1-7.



With George, he said it's mainly cardio. So, I can see either Monday or Wednesday at the latest. With Embiid, it's mental and conditioning. They play every other day for the next week or so, so no time for any scrimmages.
