If they did it earlier in the season around the time the Kings made their move I'd raise an eyebrow and say bold move but okay I get it.

But now? Ownership wants a change (GM fired too) so bad they are willing to sabotage this year's playoffs for it? Thats not a bold move, thats just insanity

Whats with these historically underperforming franchises having one year of success and thinking they should now have the same standards as the elite franchises. Kings, Grizzlies, and now the Nuggets

Memphis ok, I can see it if he lost the lockeroom, but Kings and Nuggets? Humble yourselves
Beyond stupid. And this is the reason that so many franchises go decades and decades without any real success.

Mike Malone is easily a top 5 coach, but the cap situation/CBA crippled their chance of repeating.

Hitting a rough patch before the playoffs is terrible, but hitting the panic button and canning a great coach is moronic.

If Pop calls it quits with the Spurs, then either Jenkins or Malone should be the next guy up (sorry mid *** coach Mitch Johnson).

So a lot of people's contracts expire after this season and Denver wants to do a full clean out. That I can understand, but it makes so much more sense to wait for Booth's contract to naturally expire and let him walk, and then fire Malone at the same time (if you are intent on doing so) instead of doing it one week before the playoffs.

At this point i think a lot of the people making these decisions just think they are smarter than they really are, across the league. Maybe there's some sort of statistical algorithm that's telling them they need to hit the eject button.

Or it's an ego thing. Like, they wanted Malone and the GM out right now, because if the Nuggets go on a serious run and overachieve the rest of the way (whatever that would even look like) with both of them at the helm, ditching them would have been nearly impossible from a PR standpoint. Either way, it's the ultimate "I'd rather lose my way than win your way" nonsense.

You go from winning a title to the GM and coach fired 2 years later while your team is going for 50+ wins again, and the playoffs literally start in less than 2 weeks!

It just seems like it was toxic between Malone and Booth. Malone wanted more vets and Booth wanted Malone to play the young guys. They weren't on the same page. I can fully understand Booth. He was on an expiring deal. This is the time to make a move if you don't want Booth's impact in the offseason. But, I don't get Malone. Only coach to win a ring, essentially a lock for 50 win team with a perennial MVP candidate. You only make this type of firing if the HC completely lost the locker room.

Yet, the owner still has championship goals for this season. But at the same time, he told the players to "Play hard and have fun". You only say that when you have low expectations

Last time the goal in sports was to play hard and have fun, my mom took the team to get ice cream after each game.

One request for clarification, I'm hearing both that Booth was fired and that the Nuggets just announced he won't be extended, implying he will have his job until his contract expires this offseason. Not sure which is accurate.

And the best "theory" I've heard is that it is due to the toxicity between Booth and Malone, and the fear was that keeping one would lead to that guy feeling empowered to be even more toxic.

LeBron passes Kareem for 2nd all time in games played.

I know it's about consistency more than anything, but Robert Parish holds the record and played 82 games just once in his career, and LeBron is going to pass him next season also only getting to 82 games only once.

Has AD retired from rim protection? I've lost count of the times in this game where not only as he not met the ballhandler to challenge them at the rim, but he has actively avoided being in those situations. LeBron is going off in the 4th primarily because AD is rotating away from the rim
Edit: Went to check, saw he had 5 blocks his last game so dunno what the problem is tonight

It's definitely about landing right around 80 games per season over and over and over. And in his final few seasons he was the ultimate example of just a body out there, somehow getting minutes. LeBron could theoretically get to 2000 games played if he keeps signing deals and tapers down to 9 minutes per game lol.

Triple doubles this year from the likes of LeBron, Giannis, Jokic, Luka and...Mogbo.

Sure, it's against Charlotte, but he's the first rookie to get a triple double this season.
