Good lord.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.

Re: Am I the only one who would take Wade over Lebron?
Originally posted by NovaStarObviously you missed the entire point. Wade has accomplished more with his team than lebron has. Lebron had a chance to defeat the Pistons in a 7th and deciding game but that didn't work out for him. It is not his time to shine...if ever ( I say this hoping that Lebron does get a ring, but until he does there are no gurantees) Wade played against the same team and shined, now some may say he had shaq, well how many points per game did shaq avg against the Pistons? How many pts did Ilguaskas avg against the Pistons? I quite frankly think that the cavs were a good match up against the pistons and could have won that series, so to say that W had a better team is quite misleading, basketball is a game of matchups. At the end of the day because W has infact led his team to a ring I place him above Lebron and Carmelo. Has nothing to do with the opinion that the heat are better than the Cavs.
I would be willing to bet that if the heat would have met the cavs in the eastern conf finals there would have been those that would have said the cavs are better than the heat and would have picked them to win because of Lebron.
Saying Wade has a better team is not misleading at all. He has a better team around him, period. No one will argue that point. Shaq can go scoreless and still have a bigger impact than Ilgauskas.
And you obviously still don't get it. You place Wade above Lebron becuase he has a ring, and then in the very next sentence state that it has nothing to do with the Heat being better than the Cavs. Well, without the Heat being better than the Cavs the Heat would have no ring. Do you honestly believe Wade would have won a ring with Lebron's supporting cast? Give me a break.Comment

Shaq vs Pistons = 21.7 PPG
Ilgauskas vs Pistons = 10.9 PPGComment

All things considered, at this point in there careers, I take Wade hands down, because of the reasons mentioned above. Right now Lebron is just a Kevin Garnett in another uniform. Prodigy, big money, big hype, no rings.Great potential not yet realized. Until he wins, what else could he be? Not saying he won't ever get there, but right now he is not there.Comment

Re: Am I the only one who would take Wade over Lebron?
Originally posted by NovaStarAgain, it is not so much about teams being better or worse, it is about the defined leader or go to man producing to take his team to the win. I would argue that dallas has a better team than miami(if you are defining team to mean better individual players) to that end the lakers had a better team than detroit (the year detroit won it all). I place W above L because he has shown the ability to lead his team to a championship. Remember, the heat were down 2 games and were trailing by 13 points in the 3rd game with 6 minutes to go. What player elevated his team to victory beyond that point? Wade stepped to the front and led his team, put them on his back and got them through when alot of people wrote them off. Lebron has not approached any thing remotely associated with that.

I have no problem with anyone taking Wade over Lebron. I really don't care one way or the other about either of them. But, the fact that people are discounting Lebron because he hasn't won a title with a weak *** team makes no sense.
And yes, Lebron is another KG in the sense that he has been surrounded by scrubs his whole career, while players like Wade and Dirk have predictably had more success given better supporting casts.Comment

Originally posted by NovaStarI merely asked a question, because I didn't know. Where are you getting the word nonsense from. Let's keep the convo civil. You can do that right? You can't disprove anything I say because the proof is in the accomplishment of Wade and the lack thereof on the part of Lebron.Comment

Originally posted by billmaticApparently you didn't watch the Cavs first round series, as he carried his team on his back the entire series. And unlike Wade, he didn't have a Shaq to draw double teams all game long.

I am not disounting Lebron at all. I am merely raising Wade. Wade has separated himself from Lebron, Carmelo etc... By his great performance in the eastern finals and finals. Lebron leading his team over the washington wizards in no way compares to leading your team down 2 games heading towards being down 3 games, in the finals against what most would consider a superior team. I agree with the people that are of the mindset that "greatness is found in the championship games". What Dwayne wade did in this year finals has set him on the road to greatness, Lebron has yet to travel this road. Again, I am not saying that he won't, but he has to get there first. It takes a certain mind set and spirit to lead your team to a ring, Wade has shown me that, Lebron has shown me that he might have it as well, he just has to get a better team around him, I do realize that is a part of it. But if he does not get a better team around him, he can't lead anybody anywhere. When and if he gets that team, can he lead it to a championship, this remains to be seen. We have all seen Wade do it. That is why I choose Wade. Everything else concerning the two is a toss up.Comment

Re: Am I the only one who would take Wade over Lebron?
Originally posted by jmood88I saw that you mentioned Antoine Walker however, he has nothing to do with Lebron or this thread. You can throw out numerous unrelated players who have bad habits on the court but they would also have nothing to do with this topic. I guess you putting Walkers name in this is supposed to scare people from shooting threes? What exactly was your point? You still haven't explained that.
I've stated my point twice.
DYWANE WADE'S GAME ISN'T RELIANT ON A 3 POINT SHOT. PEOPLE SAY HE MUST DEVELOP ONE, BUT I BEG TO DIFFER BECAUSE HE'S SO EFFECTIVE IN MEDIUM RANGE. I THEN MADE A REFERENCE TO ANTOINE WALKER BECAUSE HE'S A PLAYER WHO ONCE HE DEVELOPED A 3 POINT SHOT, HE WOULD STOP GOING INSIDE. SAME WITH VINCE CARTER.
That's the point I'm trying to make.Comment
