That's what I'm wondering.
Am I the only one who would take Wade over Lebron?

them being potentially the two greatest players in the league (potentially) and staying respectful towards each other...possibly meeting each other in the finals several timesOriginally posted by jmood88Where do you get that from?Comment

That doesn't answer my question. Magic and Bird played against each other in college and had an actual rivalry. There is no rivalry between Lebron and Wade.Originally posted by Tmacattackthem being potentially the two greatest players in the league (potentially) and staying respectful towards each other...possibly meeting each other in the finals several timesOriginally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Unless one moves to the West, they're not going to face each other in the NBA Finals. Conference finals, maybe.Originally posted by Tmacattackthem being potentially the two greatest players in the league (potentially) and staying respectful towards each other...possibly meeting each other in the finals several timesComment

Re: Am I the only one who would take Wade over Lebron?
Bird and Magic had a relationshp with each other that was off the court as well from college days up to the pros and till the ends of thier careers. Lebron and Wade dont have anything close to that. On top of that, the media and advertisers helped to solidify the Bird/Magic relationship with commercials, ads, etc etc. It was very very marketable. Part of it may have been the Ebony and Ivory hook as well. You just dont have anything to really build on with Wade/Lebron. They are just two young badazz players in the NBA, and thats it.Originally posted by nickbI see a Bird/Magic relationship developing with Wade/Bron...Should be fun to watch over the next ten years...__________________________________________________ ____

co-sign.... while both great players, there is no hook to bring Bron/Wade together to create nearly enough buzz as Bird/Magic.http://flotn.blogspot.com

Re: Am I the only one who would take Wade over Lebron?
As far as the topic goes. You can make a coin toss for either one. They are similar in some ways and different in others. Right now IMO Wade has intagibles that Lebron hasnt shown yet. Both can take you off the dribble to the hoop. Both can drop 40 on you on any given night. Both have developed a long range jumper of sorts now, both can get to the line when need be. Wade is a slightly better defender IMO and he just happens to do the right things at the right time that have nothing to do with scoring. On the other hand Lebron is better at making his players around him better. Hes bigger and stronger and probably sometimes when he drives through the lane he probably has a better chance of finishing the play with a bucket while getting hacked than Wade does simply cuz of his Man-Child like body.
IMO right now its neck and neck. They are in a dead heat. Forget Wade having a championship. If Lebron was on that team, they probably still would have had a championship.
As far as the people talking about how the ref's helped him... well no sh!t..hes a superstar in this league. The refs helped Jordan, they help Iverson, Kobe, etc. They would help Dirk too if hed man up and post up and drive to the lane more often. Right now Dirk pretty much tries to drive and the minute the lane closes up he takes a step back and goes into "Larry Bird Wannabee" mode.__________________________________________________ ____

Re: Am I the only one who would take Wade over Lebron?
I'd still take LeBron.
I absolutely love Dwyane Wade, in fact he's the most enjoyable player to watch in the entire league, IMO. If I was going with my heart I'd take Wade. I can understand why someone would take Wade over LBJ.
However, looking at it objectively...
Wade is placed in a tremendous position to suceed. Placed on a team with tons of proven vets and champions, Shaq, Riley, Payton, Walker, etc. He has no where near the amount of pressure placed on him that LBJ does. The 'off the court' spotlight is never on him. Shaq vs. Kobe, Riley vs Van Gundy, 'Toine bitching about not being supporting cast, Mournings battle with 1,325 of his organs. Wade is sort of coddled, he isn't under the microscope like Lebron is.
Everything LeBron does is disected to a T. The kid is 21 years old. He's still 5 years away from his friggen prime. His supporting cast will also get better (and it needs to). Plus, has any Cav cept for Eric Snow ever even been to the Finals?
I'd say it's neck and neck and could go either way, but if I was starting a team from scratch today I would go with LeBron James."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Payton, apart from his 1-2 clutch shots was horrible. Walker was inconsistent. Zo had a few good games. Shaq wasn't himself.Comment

Re: Am I the only one who would take Wade over Lebron?
Developing my man, both are still VERY young and still have quite a ways to go before they are done in the league, I see them meeting a ton in the playoffs over the next 7-10 years. I cant wait to see it all happen, see whos better, see whos more clutch, see whos able to get his teammates involved better and see whos a better scorer. Also see whos gonna become more marketble and see who gets the bigger shoe contracts, commercials etc...Both are destin to be stars, but only time will tell whos gonna be the bigger star...Originally posted by blackceasarBird and Magic had a relationshp with each other that was off the court as well from college days up to the pros and till the ends of thier careers. Lebron and it isn't close. Put Lebron on the heat and they win it last year. Put Wade on Cleveland, they may not make the playoffs. The Sports Preacher

Re: Am I the only one who would take Wade over Lebron?
Thats not fair to say, look at Damon Jones last year, then look at him this year...Last year he looks like hes almost good enough to make the all star team playing alongside Wade. This year playing with Lebron, he didnt play quite as well. Just some food for thought.Originally posted by utexasLebron and it isn't close. Put Lebron on the heat and they win it last year.
