Hahahhaaha. Would anyone have ever guessed that?

Then again, those guys also had to play thru dynasties (Bulls and Lakers) and the always-threatening, never-repeating San Antonio Spurs.
He did it by taking a pay cut and playing support (despite what he says) on a great team. If any of those guys went to the Spurs, Heat, Pistons, or Mavs, they'd have a ring too.

I would take Wade over Bron, Kobe, Tmac cause he is more of a fighter at both ends and cause I love his style of play speed, finesse, creativity Bron is overrated. his numbers are good but he should do more than numbers and commercials to gain respect and I don't mean the title but play better bball and inspire his team to adapt his style.

And how is Bron more marketable? And so he's younger, so what? And he's no more versatile than Flash.
I think Lebron is a better shooter and passer but Wade is better defensively (I forgot to think about defense when I was posting my thoughts). Lebron is 3 years younger. That is quite a bit especially when you consider what is supposed to be the "peak years" for players. Lebron had those extra 3 years to get adjusted to the NBA while Wade spent them learning the game in college. I think the experience will have made Lebron a better player at 21 than Wade was. I'm not sure about rookie year, but wasn't Shaq the number 1 option last year? And wasn't he supposed to be this year as well? I think if you gave Wade the team LBJ had they wouldn't be as good.
Just wait till Arsenal moves into Emirates Stadium.

I said Wade before and I say Wade now. The argument that W played college ball for three years while L played 3 in the pro's is the very reason why W is better. The 3 years in college gave W a chance to hone is skill and learn the game (he led his team to a final four) L didn't have all of this experience under his belt that is advantage W, not disadvantage. W knows more about his game and how to work it better than L knows about his. I think L will eventually get his ring (I hope he doesn't turn out to be a KG) but for right now, D Wade...Champion!!

Re: Am I the only one who would take Wade over Lebron?

Watching Wade in the Finals and the playoffs this year...I still do think Lebron is better...but he is not lightyears ahead of Wade...altho I do believe that when its all said and done Lebron will be above Wade...1 because he is 3 years younger...and because he is more versatile(can play the 1,2,3 & 4)...Lebron @ 21 avged 31-7-6...altho it was "just" in the regular season that says alot...he and the Cavs took the Eastern Champs to seven games and he had to do it ALL by himself...mostly...

People dont understand how good D-Wade has it playing with Shaq altho he isnt dominant like he used to be...he is still a factor...Wade is better than Lebron in clutch situations but Wade has been coached 3 years ahead of Lebron so of course he should be @ this level...Lebron didnt learn clutch in highschool but he learned it in the playoffs...

The main reason I say I would pick Lebron over Wade is because Lebron sees double and triple teams before he even reaches the top of the key...and all the rest of the opponents eyes are on him...Wade may have seen a few doubles but NONE like Lebron faced and when Wade gets doubled and trapped he usually turns the ball over because he rushes...When Lebron sees a double /triple hes patient and weighs his options...but enough of this talk...

Both of these players are in a league of their own and picking either 1 of them wouldnt really matter...its all based on what YOUR team would need...simple

Wade reminds me of Jordan. Br0n reminds me of Magic. I take Wade.

personally, i put Wade ahead of Lebron because Dwayne is a much better outside shooter than James right now.

btw, you know that these are the kind of discussions that the NBA wanted people to be having after the season.

Jordan doesn't miss two clutch free throws at the end of a game.

I haven't even read the thread, but I'm a Cavs fan and have watched LeBron for years (in high school as well). I would personally take either one. I don't and can't say either one is better than the other. Wade is a better defender. LeBron is a better outside shooter (never thought I would say that). Wade is better at not making mistakes. LeBron is stronger. But to say one is better than the other, I can't. If Wade was 4 inches taller, they would be the same player. Both can basically get to the hoop whenever they want to. Both are young superstars that the NBA will build on for years and years.

I wouldn't blink an eye if the Cavs traded LeBron for Wade. To me, they are right now the best 2 players in the NBA with Kobe right behind them.

This reminds me much of the whole Manning/Brady debate -- you really can't go wrong with either player.

Wade lacks in size. He cant play many positions unlike Br0n. However, Wade has always been aggressive. That is his game: he keeps driving to the basket at will. That is why he is the Finals MVP. Bron has a more all around game. He can dish, play any position just about, and his midrange game is getting there. So IMO, they are just about even.

I thought the Mavericks just showed how overrated versatility is.

Sure, it's great to have interchangeable parts, but when your role isn't clearly defined and you lack a key go-to guy, what's the point?

Isn't that thread about the best teams that almost made it to the finals (2000 Blazers, 02 Kings etc.) full of shoulda-coulda-woulda teams teams who had many interchangeable parts?

I'd take the right concotion of specialists and role players with experience than athletic, versatile players. Unless of course you're meaning versatility on defense alone (Detroit).

Oh, and to the guy who said that if any of those guys went to another team and did the same thing Fatoine did ...

if I recall, 'Toine was a Mav not too long ago -- did that net him a ring? Mike Finley went to the Spurs and did he get a ring (sure he has a chance still)? I don't need to mention how close Webber was FOREVER especially taking the backseat to BIBBY in the playoffs.

But that's neither here, nor there.

To answer the topic question: I'd take Wade over Bron and it's a toss-up between Kobe and Bron (to get off topic). But everyone is taking this argument as if you were "unfortunate" to take Lebron if you didn't have a shot at Wade. I'd definitely take that misfortune in a heartbeat.

How did you figure that out from the series? It was as close as they come with the Mavs losing 3 games in the last few seconds. I don't think the teams could have been any more even. That comment really just makes no sense.
