With Gasol, Bynum, West, Chandler, Garnett, Perkins, Lewis and Howard, the Spurs are in a situation where whoever Tim is guarding will keep him away from the basket, and the Spurs won't have an intimidator on the other side to stop pick and roll penetration. In the event that Tim guards the bigger player, the shooting big men(Gasol, West, Garnett, Z) will have an easier time scoring, and will put Tim in a situation of coming over for help. When they had two big bodies in there, it was very hard to score in the paint on the Spurs.

The Spurs' defense will be good, but it needs to be great on the interior to beat those teams, and the Hornets. I agree that it can *possibly* happen, but the chances are very slim with the lineup they have, because all of those teams are fielding dual 7 footers who are also skilled. That's rough.
It will definitely be tough to deal with some of the bigger teams, but the Spurs have found a way to do it in the past, so I'm not overly worried.

Bonner is 11/12 from beyond the arc over the last three games. That's insane!!!

Tonight is the beginning of the Rodeo Road Trip. You would think that this would be a difficult stretch, but this always seems to be when this team finally comes together and plays great. It will be interesting to see how things work out. At least the Spurs only play three teams over .500 during the eight game road trip.

I'm the same way. I don't like to see guys get hurt, but the selfish part of me is salivating over the injury.

What is our problem with with playing at Oracle Arena? Last year the Spurs lost both games there and the Spurs had a ton of trouble tonight. If it wasn't for huge performances by the Big Three (Scoring 87 of the 110 points) and an epic collapse in the fourth quarter by the Warriors, it would have been another loss.

Manu looks primed to have a huge Rodeo Road Trip, but it would be helpful if he could start hitting the three.

Haha, yeah. Spurs down 12 right now, though. I understand the premise for resting them, but I don't think it's good to throw away a game, either.

Way to play into the "old" rep lol.

I've never seen this done before and I don't really like it. The Spurs are off until Sunday against Boston, so I don't see the need to keep them rested considering they have five days off anyways...

Maybe Pop just wanted to see how things went without the Big Three and to see how the bench would step up. I'd say the bench played well. To make it a close game on the road against a very good Denver team without your top three players is a tough task, but that's what San Antonio did.

I heard it was a statement from Pop to the league about it's horrible scheduling. Took the air right out of a very-hyped matchup on NBA TV.

Well, that would explain it, though I don't like throwing away a game to make a statement to the NBA.

Pop's won four championships, so I'll give him a pass.

Ugh, do the Spurs just not get up to play the lesser teams or something? I've seen this all too often. That play there at the end simply didn't work and it ended with Tony having to heave up a fade-away airball from about 18 feet. Very disappointing loss.

Who was that Roko kid? I've never even heard of him before and he ends up being the star of the game!

Ugh, another loss. Of course, with Manu out and Tony playing like crap, I'm not surprised. Timmy didn't play very well, either, until the fourth quarter. I really thought the Spurs should have won in overtime with David Lee out, but oh well.

And that snaps the Spurs' 20+ winning streak when they eclipse the 100 point barrier.

I like the way our defense has been playing the last two games...we need to keep this intensity up while Timmy and Manu miss games..

The win against the Clippers was a relief after losing two blowouts in a row.

Big game tonight against Dallas. Still no Manu. I hope he returns soon.

Drew Gooden is an ugly man, LOL, but he did pretty good tonight.

BTW, when is Manu expected to be back? This team just isn't as good without him and as we inch closers to playoff time, I hope he gets healthy soon.
