Re: Official Indiana Pacers Thread
I thought Granger's shot was good and then I was bummed that it came out but, Dunleavy came through with that tip in. Dunleavy got the ball right as it came off the rim and just got enough of the ball to get it over the rim. I was holding my breath as it seemed like the ball hung on the rim and it seemed like the ball could fall either way. Thrilled to see it drop in the hoop for the win.Comment

Re: Official Indiana Pacers Thread
Man, I havent been able to catch the last 3 or 4 games, it doesnt help that they have had a weird schedule, like this week they dont play again till friday, they seem to have some large gaps between games this season.
I read something that laid out stats, and when Granger hits over 20 a night the Pacers win, when he doesnt, they lose. We really need someone to step up and be a solid #2. I was hoping Hibbert, Collison, someone would but theyve all been pretty flat.Comment

Re: Official Indiana Pacers Thread
I was so high on Hibbert after the really strong start to the season but, his game has been terrible lately. I read a stat where in his last 11 games he is shooting like 35 percent from the floor with no game shooting over 50 percent in that same stretch. A 7'2 inside presence cannot be shooting 35 percent from the floor over an 11 game span. As the only true post scoring option this team needs Hibbert to make some easy baskets and they just aren't getting it from him right now.
The more this season goes on the more and more I'm looking forward to Jim O'Brien being gone. I hope Bird just let's his contract expire after the end of the season and looks for a new coach in the offseason.Comment

Re: Official Indiana Pacers Thread
Hansbrough with a huge game tonight. He played really really good tonight against the Spurs. He needs to be getting a decent amount of minutes from here on out so he can develop because he has shown flashes of quality play.
This game could have been a win if Granger would have made both free throws with 1:10 remaining that would have given the Pacers a 89-83 lead instead of bricking both. Or, if the Pacers could have shot better just a little better than 1-15 they did in the 4th quarter. Hibbert again struggled shooting missing some inside shots in the last few minutes of the game when the Pacers could have really used a bucket or 2 from him.
All in all a good effort against the Spurs for most of the game but, it really should have been a win.Comment

Finally back on the winning side of things. Now we have Chicago at home before we hit the road for four straight games(LAC, GS, POR, DEN). Our schedule is a little soft though for the next month and a half. Only 8 of our next 20 opponents are Playoff teams.Indianapolis Colts

Re: Official Indiana Pacers Thread
Id like to see us go 3-1 on the trip. I see it more like 2-2 and we are more than capable of going 1-3, but we can beat GS and LAC even if we play bad lol, POR will be a tough one but itll be winnable, and DEN being the hardest, If we can go 3-1 maybe we can start turning it around.Comment

Re: Official Indiana Pacers Thread
Today was a big disapointment. I have know idea why O'brien was not doubling Griffin. I think Bird has to start seriously thinking about making a coaching change. Larry Brown would be a very good option to get this team playing right. if not him Bird needs to come down and coach this team the rest of the year. I have had just about enough of O'brien.Comment

You know, Ive tried to stay off this train of thought. Im a Titans nut job and the whole wanting the coach fired, being upset with the team, etc, its just been a bad year, I wanted to just accept the Pacers as who they are until they become a decent team in a year or 2.
The truth is though, some of the things he has done, even off the court are weird to me now. Like Hibbert had a bad game a while back, I remember O'Brian calling out Hibbert and some other players in the media, like straight up called him out. I thought at the time, hey maybe its what the kid needs, now though, Hibbert is actually going to a sports psychologist, Ive got to say, that was one big error in judgment by O'Brian, like dude totally missed that one lol.
Furthermore, some of the stuff in the offseason that was said, like Granger saying how the "losing" took so much out of him and it drained him losing so much. That, on top of the way this team loses some of these games, its like mentally, they are not capable of winning games consistently, its almost as if we need to catch a team on an off day to steal a win, even bad teams. Look at the Clippers, they are a horrible team, yet we let them beat us.
The way the whole calling out players played out, the way the team just flat out looks lost on a lot of offensive possessions, and the way they are finding ways to lose games, this all points to coaching issues doesn't it?Comment

I was born a Pacer fan and i will die 1 but i am getting very frustrated with the lack of coaching ability that O'brien has. I know financially that the Pacers don't want to have to fire him but something seriously has to be done.Comment

Re: Official Indiana Pacers Thread
So Pacers fans I know its a little early to be talking draft but who would u like to see the team get in the draft? I want Jimmer Fredette (spelling might be wrong). I have been watching him pretty closely the last 2 years and I have been very impressed with his game. The pacers truely lack a pure shooter and have so since Reggie retired. Granger has to do way to much for this team to win and he could really use a guy like this to spread the floor and it would also help Hibbert. Rush and Dunleavy areto streaky to be consistent threats.
I also believe the pacers need a bigger point guard to change it up from the speedy Collisson. I think if we add a pure shooter and a bigger point guard this team can be very good with the core pieces that are there.Comment

O'Brien needs to go. And now. His inability to dial up plays at the end of games is impeccable. And the players look completely lost at the end of games. It doesn't help that this team hasn't improved one bit under him either.Indianapolis Colts

Re: Official Indiana Pacers Thread
yeah, another tough one last night. Ellis was pretty much schooling Rush so it was no surprise to see him hit that shot to take the lead. OMG @ Golden state having what was it 20 of 22 home games coming up, thats crazy man. They had a heck of a crowd for a wed game against a crappy team didnt they?Comment
