Regardless... I think George is going to be a key part of the Pacers future, and I hope that he, Granger, and Hibbert can stay healthy. Will be fun watching them grow together.

Didn't hear that stat, but what the hell?? That's insane. And yeah, their crowd was loud, but that's the usual with Golden State. One of the better crowds in the NBA.

Yep, it's time. No consistency. No improvement. That right there should qualify for his firing. Add in the inability to dial up plays, players looking lost coming out of a timeout and at the end of games, him making some very scratch-your-head decisions and he shouldn't even make it back to Indy before receiving a "YOU'RE FIRED" call from Larry Bird.

If Jim O'Brian gets canned in the off-season, which Coach would u like to see The Pacers hire?

I like Larry Brown, but I dont know if his style would work w/ this roster.

I think Mark Jackson would make an excellent Coach, but i dont know if a rookie is what this Roster needs. Do they have the time to let him grow into the role while Granger and whatever new players they acquire in the summer gel?

I have no ideas who could fit.

A typical Pacers loss, this time to Portland. Get out to an early lead, give the lead up, and don't show up in the 4th. If we're going to lose, then let's lose. So sick of this fool's gold crap.

Anybody would be better than Jim O'Brien. I would be interested to see how Indianapolis native Mike Woodson would do as head coach of the Pacers. Woodson was successful with Hawks and I think he could have a similar kind of success with the Pacers with hopefully what would be deeper runs into the playoffs of course. Also, I could possibly see former Pacers assistant coach Mike Brown as candidate but, who knows how he could do as a coach without a Lebron James to fall back on. Some other names could be, like you mentioned, Mark Jackson, or maybe even Lawrence Frank or Sam Mitchell. I'd take any of the above over Jim O'Brien and almost any other possible candidate that could become the coach the Pacers next year.

                Sam Mitchell - Good call!!

Bird would have to go or let Sam do his thing w/out any leash.

I dont like Mike Brown. Good defensive coach, but his Xs & Os are suspect.

Im not a fan of Frank either. I watched him w/ the Nets. He had Jason Kidd to run his team. I dont know how he would do w/ the Pacers roster w/ out that luxury.

Woodson couldnt get a much better roster in Atlanta deeper in the Playoffs. He could get that team to turnover. He does deserve another chance somewhere else though.

Im not on the "Fire Jim 'O'Brian" bandwagon. Ive never been a fan of dumping a head coach mid-season. I dont know of any instances where it really turns around the culture and the team gets that much better.
Fire him in the summer and start over w/ a fresh new Training Camp.

Ive seen assistants take over and tweak the existing philosophy, but getting a whole new Coach mid-season is dangerous...IMO.

I think Hibbert's weak play(after a crazy start) and Granger's slight decline has been crucial to the Pacers woes.

They finally played good tonight but it was the Nets they beat. I told my wife before the game that not even having a crappy coach should cost them a home win against the Nets. I also told her that if they did lose not only O'Brien should be fired but the roster of players needed dump as well. As bad as the east is it will be a damn shame if we don't get in the playoffs this year even with O'Brien as coach.

Wasnt able to watch the game last night, I was surprised to see Dunleavy go off.

I'm most likely going to the Nets-Pacers game next weekend here in Jersey. Its like 5 bucks for courtside lol, cant pass it up.

I have officially joined the Fire Jim O'Brian bandwagon.

He takes Josh McRoberts out when he was the only one playing w/ a sense of urgency.

Sits him through the Bulls second half run, and inserts him back w/ 4 mins to go w/ the Bulls up by 10.

The only excuse would be it was a "trade showcase" before the deadline.

                        His rotations are ridiculous.

And im really sick of seeing James Posey at the 4.

It seems like you joined the bandwagon in the nick of time as reports are the Pacers have fired O'Brien. His rotations were terrible and it's not a Jim O'Brien offense if there isn't a Power Forward out at the 3 point line to jack up threes like Murphy so, Posey had to fill in for Murphy at the 4.

Hopefully now the November Roy Hibbert shows back up. Also, Paul George gets consistent minutes every night because he has looked good in the few minutes he did get under O'Brien.

Now the Pacers can officially start working towards the future and this offseason they need to land a solid head coach.

Bring me SAM MITCHELL or take a chance w/ Mark Jackson.

Larry Bird still has some cards to play before the trade deadline.

Im wondering if he make some roster moves now or waits to see what the coaching change does and makes "big" moves in the off-season w/ all the contracts coming off the books.

I dont think Bird w/ allow a new Coach to come in that isnt under his thumb.

The above article states that they have heard multiple sources mention that Mike Brown is the primary candidate to replace O'Brien along with Utah assistant Ty Corbin as being a strong candidate. I have a strong feeling it will be Mike Brown.
