shumpert is starting to solidify himself aslong as he doesn't get in foul trouble we'll be good cause shumpert provides good scoring off the bench and i rather have him start as shooting guard then landry because he runs the floor better , rebounds better, and plays defense more.

Anyone else notice the Knicks lose a possession in two straight games?

There was the overturned offensive foul on Artest. Chandler took free throws on the assumption it was a defensive foul that put the Lakers in the bonus. Later on the refs wiped the points declaring it shouldn't have put Chandler at the line.

However, that means the Knicks never had the ball back to score their own two points. Not sure how this was overlooked.

Then again last night when Lin drove to the basket, appeared to be fouled but the refs blew a T on Rubio. Well Lin took the technical foul shot but somehow the Wolves got the ball back.

D'Antoni complained to no avail though the refs did admit later in the game that they made a mistake.

Two big miscues that placed extra pressure on the defense in tight games.

Yea and in the Laker games the announcers praised the refs and said it was a good rule that they were able to take the points off the board, and didn't mention the Knicks lost a possession. Either the refs messed up and should have given the Knicks the ball or its a terrible rule that they can go back and change that.

He also hit a huge jump shot last night. Knicks lose that game if Novak doesn't fire without fear.
Lin has boosted this new groups confidence to astronomical levels.
Jared Jeffries- is hitting jumpshots and making crafty layups in the paint now?!
Landry Fields- Is playing with a LOT more confidence now, if he can put some arc on that shot of his he'd be a problem.
Steve Novak- Shooting like a madman from the outside now.

I say no to this. He probaby would ruin team chemistry and would clash with Lin.

He doesn't rebound better than Landry but I agree with everything else.

I only see Lin getting better. When Stat and Melo get back our team will only get stronger.
Lin doesn't have to carry the team anymore. He can run the offense the way its supposed to be with better talent on the floor.
Hopefully D'antoni realizes we have a good second unit now, as long as Lin stays in at point.

Loved everything Melo said today about fitting in when he gets back, and honestly I don't really understand the concerns people have. Melo never wanted to be the guy to bring the ball up and run the offense, they did that because they had no good options. Lin's only going to make Stat and Melo better when they get back.

And I hope we still find some minutes for Novak and Billy Walker is relegated to the bench.

Melo is the easiest target of all the stars in the league, just another chance for people to get on him for the type of player he is.

I liked what Magic said yesterday. Said Melo should just get on his back and ride.

                    Really?

This might not be word for word, but it's pretty close: "How will I fit into the offense? Give me the ball and get out of the way. (chuckles) This is funny to me. I hear all this talk on TV and the radio, and all I can do is laugh."

                    That sounds troublesome to me.

As for the concerns people have about Carmelo, it's because The Knicks have a losing record with him in a Knick jersey. And that even goes back to last year. And while I can't speak for everyone, pre-trade I had a lot of questions about him. I questioned whether a player like him can ever fit in Antoni's system. I questioned whether he'll ever understand shot selection. I questioned his work ethic on the court. So far he's proving me right on all accounts. And with the self-entitled attitude he has, I don't see him changing anytime soon.

IMO, the type of player he is justifies people getting on him. It's not that he's a scorer, it's that he's lazy. He could be a top 3 player in the NBA if he gave it his all and learned/used basketball IQ. He consistently takes halves/nights off on D and jacks up bad shot after bad shot, even when he had Chauncey. The part about his D gets to me so much more because I know how good he can be when he wants. Look at that WCF against Kobe. But he just doesn't have that "it factor", that insatiable will to win, you see in guys Kobe, Garnett, and D-Wade, to bring it every night for 4 quarters.

Melo said give Lin the ball and space out not give melo the ball and get out of the way.

                          Do you really believe this?

I mean, we're in a Knicks thread with guys who love Melo and wanted him here, not in the NBA forums. That doesn't mean you can't recognize the type of player he is. And that is being proven to not work with D'Antoni. We hoped one of them would change and they haven't.

I mean, we're in a Knicks thread with guys who love Melo and wanted him here, not in the NBA forums. That doesn't mean you can't recognize the type of player he is. And that is being proven to not work with D'Antoni. We hoped one of them would change and they haven't.
                              Lin will change them.

Or I'm pulling straws here hoping he does because D'Antoni and Carmelo might be the two most stubborn people in NYC and that includes my mother.

Must we forget Melo's always played with a pretty competent PG his entire career until this season?

                                Some meaningless stats:
Percent of FGs assisted in Denver before the trade: 48.5.
Percent of FGs assisted in NY this season: 27.9
