If healthy, on paper we have one of the best starting 5's. Will be winning championship in 2k ha ha

      Starters:
      PG- Rose
      SG- Lee
      SF- Melo
      PF- Porzingis
      C- Noah

      Bench:
      PG-
      SG- Galloway, Holiday
      SF-
      PF- O'Quinn
      C-

      Who am I missing?

We need a big-body rebounder and a PG. Match any team offering Lance.

      And sign Hernangonez already.

Laughing at that Eric Gordon deal, man. I thought he was going to be a cheaper alternative if Lee hadn't worked out, glad Phil dodged that bullet.

The fallout from the RoLo trade gets a little bigger with every signing. Not only is our team much better for this year, but a lot of it is residuals from the trade. Trade for D-Rose, he's excited to play here, recruits Noah. Sign Noah, he's exicted to play here, recruits Lee, now he's excited to be here. I love the balance in our starting lineup, if we can stay healthy, bring back Gallo and Lance, get a backup PG, we're looking pretty good.

One thing I was thinking about that pushes this approach past the full tank for me is how much more the reps will mean for Porzingis coming up around a team that has a chance, getting meaningful playoff minutes, playing with dudes that are hungry, etc. We don't want him coming up around losers like the kids in Philly.

This is our current roster and cap holds. I read he has Euro offers.

I think this is an excellent point.

I saw Porzingis just said the same but in his own words. "I'm young but we don't have 10 years to win a championship."

I am for a win now approach so long as it protects long term assets. And guys are right, the Knicks still have first round picks.

The Knicks team is improved. How much? Hard to say and a lot of projections will be based on whether or not a few new guys play up to their talent or hit rock bottom.

I'm actually okay with Rose being re-signed if he can at least be a 15, 7 guy that still hits the paint hard.

Re: The 2016 New York Knicks: Now that we're done tanking...

Just got back from a week in the Caribbean with the wife, man did it suck not having cell reception during the beginning of free agency. Eff the white sandy beaches, I needed my free agency news ASAP.

Overall I'm on board with what Phil has done. Many fans have knocked the Rose deal and the Noah signing while, as usual, not offering any better alternatives. If Noah can be 80% of what he was a few years ago I think he'll be the absolute perfect fit for KP, even moreso than Lopez. At least fans seem to be universally supportive of the Lee signing. Really curious to see who our backup PG is since it'll be a key role given Rose's health concerns.

Rose, Lee, Melo, KP, Noah - of course "if healthy" must apply but if they are that is by far the most talented starting five we've had since Ewing was here (hell, it might be more talented than any team Ewing had). Plus the pieces fit.

FA isn't over but you can already say that this has been a positive summer. We improved our immediate potential and Phil still hasn't hamstrung our future. Rose can be out of the picture in 12 months if he doesn't work out. Lee is a guy we'll want for the next four years, NYers will love him. Melo and KP, they go without saying. That leaves us with one potential albatross in Noah - that's fine, every NBA roster has risky contracts.

Got our backup PG, Brandon Jennings, 1 year, 5 mil. Could be a great option for scoring off the bench.

Now they've rescinded the QO to Galloway.

                      Lance is back.

Forward Lance Thomas has reached a multi-year agreement to re-sign with Knicks, league source tells @clevelanddotcom.
Begley mentioned there's still a shot we bring back Gallo as we still have his EBR, but it was probably to offer Hernangomez a 3 year deal. So...

D-Rose, Courtney Lee, Melo, Porzingis, Noah
Jennings, Holliday, Thomas, O'Quinn, Hernangomez (?), Galloway (?)

Lance deal is 4 years, starting at 6.1 mil.

I haven't heard anything about offers. Should be starting soon, moratorium ends and contracts can really be offered on the 7th. I wouldn't be surprised if they give him the same deal Lance just got. 6 mil is going to be what the concession stand workers are making in a year.

Cool. Hope we can bring him back. Lance and Galloway are great hard workers that were big for our bench. Galloway also is durable and we definitely need guard depth.

Don't see why Willy and Gallo wouldn't be able to be signed along with Jennings.

We should be able to as long as Willy takes a deal for less than 1.7 mil a year which is what we have after cap holds left. After that, Gallo can get the max we can give him which I believe is the same deal Lance got. Other teams can offer him more though I think. My wording may have been confusing in the post before.
