    Re: Rahman vs Toney.....

Anybody not interested in this fight can not call themselves a boxing fan. This is a big fight in that it could lead the first true heavyweight champ since Lewis.

Rahman has defeated one of the top heavyweights over the past fifthteen years in Lennox Lewis. Toney has been dominating his opponents since 1997 and might get the titles to match his record.

This will be an interesting and exciting fight as long as Toney doesn't tank with all that excess weight (in the past he has shown to be able to overcome his "fatness").

There is no excuse to miss this fight if you consider yourself a boxing fan - being that its FREE.

Prediction: Toney by decison - 117-112
If there is any KO - expect it to occur in Round 6 (+-2)

This is a great storyline fight. Can Toney handle a heavyweight punch? Is time every going to catch up with? Abuse on his body catch up to him? What Rahman will show up? Is he smart enough to realize he could easily dominate this fight with his jab? Is he dumb enough to fight in close with a close quarter master?

Since Rahman usually blows it or ends up being disappointed, I am going to go with Toney 116-112 UD. Though, it will be awesome to see Toney react to getting hit with his first heavyweight punch.
dude you acting like tony can't take a punch, Tony Is one of or is the best counter boxers around, I think it will be a great fight. Tony is a lot smarter then you seem to be given him credit for, but Rahman is incredible shape, the best i ever seen him.

I have to admit, holy ****. However, he has let down before and I just won't jump on his jock yet. But damn, he worked his *** off for this.

No, I never said Toney can't take a punch. I did say, however, is how is he going to handle being hit by a heavyweight. Toney has never been hit like he will tonight in his entire glorious career. Period. His matchups have been handpicked so far in the division and if Rock connects, as evidenced when he hit the lottery against the great one, you get rocked. I give Toney all the credit in the world, but it is an unknown on how he will take a true heavyweight punch. That is not hating. And I do agree with you, Toney is a masterful counterpuncher and a great inside. If Rahman gets himself close, he is a moron. He should jab and move all night and not give a **** about how it looks to spectators.

On a personal note, I really hope Rahman wins because I believe he is more willing to fight everyone in the division (plus he is younger). I just have a feeling that Toney would avoid certain superheavyweights evidenced by the track record he has so far in the division.

Anyone that loses to Oliver McCall in their prime cant be considered great.

Holyfield is sooo tight. Though he will always be the best cruiserweight of all-time, I have him behind Lewis post Ali.

That was not even close to Lewis' prime. He did not even have Manny. By your logic, Holyfield is overrated for losing to a light heavyweight and to an overrated Bowe who forced into retirement by Golota. Holyfield was awesome, but was also beat twice by Lennox.
