Re: Rahman vs Toney.....
Originally posted by thelwig14I thought Rahman won also. However, I think both of these fighters are not heavyweight elites. I think Wlad, Peter, Byrd, Brewster, Brock, Maskaev, Chagaev, Ibragimov, Krasniqi, etc. would beat both of them. Rahman just is not smart enough to fight Toney like you should and I think both proved they don't belong in the elite. If Toney decided to get in true shape, he would beat Rahman. But, I don't think he will ever put himself in that position again. The DuCross Brothers: Sports Internet Talk Show

The belt Bowe threw away has been thrown away by many boxers. that league was and still is very corrupt.
Every great fighter Lewis beat was way past his prime. Except for McCall and Rahman who both knocked him the uck out.
You try and give Tyson a free pass when Lennox was clearly not in shape for the two times he got caught. The difference is Lennox came back and thoroughly embarrassed both. Lennox fought a lot of good fighters and Evander fought him with two fights between Tyson and Lennox when Evander was supposedly at his peak. For any reason Lennox did not fight a fighter at a particular time was solely because that fighter did not want anything to do with Lennox and wanted to keep their market value high.Comment

Lennox was up by 5 and the fight was stopped by a mexican ref that could not speak english and there were implications he was tied to King and the WBC president. Go back and watch it, the fight was stopped too early. Even the commentators believed so.Last edited by RoyalBoyle78; 03-18-2006, 11:41 PM.N.Y Mets

Ummmm, yeah he did. The moment the non english speaking ref waived the fight Lennox immediately put his hands in the air and looked at his corner. He was undefeated, up at 5, and had his gloves below his chin. McCall probably would have beaten him, but Lennox deserved the right and earned the right for the fight to continue. Unless you can put the dvd on, have up both walk through it on the phone, then there is nothing you can say about it. You either did not see it or have not seen the fight in 10 years because you could not argue your case. He was up.Comment

Re: Rahman vs Toney.....
dude please go back and watch the fight, Lewis could not continued, his legs were gone, yeah he put his gloves right under his chin and fell right into the ref. I believe the ref that night was Joe Cortz, and Cortz speaks perfect english, maybe Lewis heard speaking another language because he got knocked the "F" Out.N.Y Mets

I have it on dvd. What is your phone number? I will gladly play it for you via telephone. All 3 commentators had never seen the ref before and this was for the heavyweight championship of the world.
I am not trying to talk trash, but you obviously have no basis for you argument because you 10 year old memory as your evidence (if you even saw the fight).Comment

Originally posted by FootballForeverFirst off, are you sure 10 years old isn't your age. Plus anybosy who has ever seen that fight know Lewis could have not continued. What DVD is it, what is the DVD called.
Wow, my age is getting called into question because I have facts and support at my fingertips. I am in law school, and I have learned never to argue with someone unless you know your case inside and out and you have all the facts. Lennox could have continued no doubt. Would he have won? Probably not, but fighters in a lot worse shape have come back to win in the heavyweight division before. As an undefeated champ, he earned the right to continue. The dvd is volume 4 from Lennox' career.Last edited by thelwig14; 03-19-2006, 12:15 AM.Comment
