I gotta go with Joe in this one. B-Hop is a little on the aging side now. Joe's faster and I just believe "The X" is in his twilight.
With all that said who the heck knows. I'm just glad HBO is picking up the tab so it's not on PPV.There are 3 types of people in the world those who understand math and those who don't. -

This is news too me, but I'm glad to here it. One reason HBO is well worth the money I give them each month.Comment

B-Hop.
He's so mechanical and knows how to control the tempo of a fight. I say he'll pick Calzage apart and win by split decision.Comment

Re: Countdown To Calzage-Hopkins 20 days away.
If anyone exposed Hopkins a bit, it was Jermain Taylor, although arguably one of those close fights could have gone his way. I'm not sure how he was exposed, but being tentative early in the first fight cost him. The only way Hopkins gets control of this fight's tempo will be to hurt Calzage or get his respect power punching wise. Otherwise Calzage's speed will dictate the pace. As I said before look for Bernard to throw, and hopefully land, some right hand leads early.Comment

Like he said, B-Hop had him on Quit Street at the end of the first fight. And that was from accurate punches with power.
I'm going with the savvy vet. Although boring, he's a really efficient boxer.Comment

Taylor was clearly more active (which swayed the judges) but he was less effective IMO.

I don't have that..plus there is nothing like seeing something live as its happening. I think pk wrote on another thread where to download boxing matches, i may do that since hopkins always has the potential to turn a hyped event into an absolute snooze fest.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: Countdown To Calzage-Hopkins 20 days away.
For me as long as I don't know the outcome and the fight is on a 1 hour delay it doesn't matter . Of course this situation will only come about with circumstances like yours or just recently when David "Haymaker" Haye and Samuel Peter fought on the same night.Comment

Calzaghe in a close decision. Hopkins is just a bit too long in the tooth to deal with Joe's movement/speed IMO. Of course if Joe gets too cocky & presses too much, Bernard can change that assessment quickly enough...Comment
