I noticed this too. You can land 2 or 3 at times but it doesn't keep the other guy off you.

I spent 5 minutes tops on Wlad and made him pretty damn good.

The problem is that there are only 5 slots and you have to build up each fighter during your career or they will get blasted online. I will not be playing career again after I run through with Wlad.

I did beat someone using Golota with my weak Wlad, but he sucked and I fought like a *****.
I'm hoping there is a code for unlimited points. That way I can create accurate fighters.

Agreed on the fighters, they really don't fight like their real life counterparts and the ratings aren't accurate for some of them.

I disagree on the control a fight with the jab part. I control all the fights with my jab by making sure I am full blue when I throw it in the first couple of rounds. After that, the other fight is usually starting to wear and I then do my damage.

what i mean about controlling a fight with your jab is if you have a fighter charging in on you and you hit him wit ha solid jab it should it should change is direction, thought process or take some steam out of what he was going to do. these fighters walk right through it, and continue to pound on you like you never threw a punch.

a good example of what i am talking about is the fight between trinidad and winky wright. every time tito wanted t oget off winky hit him with that nasty jab of his and tito almost every time had to start his attack over.

This is no coincidence. It sounds to me like some people are trying to convince themselves that this game is "too sim" because they want so bad to like the game. Face it guys, the dudes at Gamespot, IGN, Gamespy, etc. have many more games come across their desk to play than all of us combined. They are hardcore gamers like the rest of us. This game isn't reviewing so low because it's "too sim". It's reviewing so low because it sucks.
I'm glad they didn't tell you to jump off a bridge.
The best boxing game to date. When you can get me to go 5 hours against the CPU (FN3 VS CPU-0 hours) there has to be something going on. I like the intensity and challenge of the game. I was frustrated at first but PF grows on you-more than a solid first effort by 2K.

Can you go back in and edit appearance (not equipment) later on, or are created boxers locked after creation?

I'm pretty sure that they are locked in career mode.

Just finished a 12 rounder online. I was JC and he was the Ghost. I won on all 3 cards 119-112, but the fight was much closer. We both threw around 600 total punches each. 1.5 rounds.

I owned him early, and then in Kelly style he steamrolled me from 5-7 and drained me pretty bad. I adjusted and countered more and coasted to a final victory.

I never had a FN game go the distance, and my first 4 fights on Prizefighter have gone the distance.

Not having goofy haymakers and parrying and all that crap really changes the strategy online.

I still haven't figured out all the signature punches, as I am really concetrating right now on defending and countering.

Good times so far online. No lag whatsoever.

Though I really think FN 4 will be better because they are now focused, but this game is FAR superior to Fight Night 3.
Are there a lot of knockdowns like the reviews suggest? & is stamina portrayed accurately? Flash knockdowns? one punch Ko's.. I love the no haymaker & parry BS that made FN3 horrid..

You can go back and edit them outside of career mode.

Nice. We should get our shipment at the office tomorrow. HOORAY FREE GAMES!

I've actually played several of the earlier builds of this game--- I'm interested to see how the final product stacks up.

Not seen one flash knockdown yet. I have beaten the computer some times where they were counted out after 2 knockdowns or the ref called it off after 2 knockdowns. But I have also had a fight or two where it took about 5 knockdowns.

I have not encountered a flash knockdown.

I have not encounted a one punch ko, but I did land an adrenaline punch with 3/4 meter full and it took a good amount off the computer fighter in the 3rd round or so.

I would say stamina is displayed accurately. Other than defense, the blue meter is key. Your punch output and speed decreases dramatically if you button mash.

There is no parry or haymaker bs.

The worst animation by a mile is your reaction sometimes if you eat a heavy hook. You take a step or two in the right. But if you defend, this is rare. I probably see this animation 2-3 times at most during a fight now.

Another complaint is the collision detection. My favorite combo with Wlad is the Kronk combo where it is the left hook/right hand. There are times when the right hand lands but doesn't hit as good as it should collision wise.

I dont understand how people are calling this a sim, the jab is absolutely useless in this game.

NHL08 has a very steep learning curve and yet it got great reviews. NHL2K8 also has a steep learning curve and, for the most part, got pretty decent reviews. The "learning curve" doesn't appear to be the problem regarding these reviews. Even the 2K die hards over at the 2K Sports boards are calling this the worst boxing game ever made.

i happen to think it's better than fight night, but still not better than boxers road.

boxers road had flash knockdows, 1 punch knockdows and they did it with out all of the catch phrases..it was very technical and had great control and the most fighters ever in a boxing game.
