    ESPN: DLH Vs Pacquiao, Dec. 6 @ MGM Grand

    http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/box...ory?id=3555960
    Oscar De La Hoya, boxing's biggest star, will announce Thursday that he will meet pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao on Dec. 6, two sources close to the fight told ESPN.com.

    Top Rank's Bob Arum, whose company promotes Pacquiao, would not confirm a deal was in place for what would be the year's biggest fight, but he did tell ESPN.com that De La Hoya would host a media teleconference at 2 p.m. ET on Thursday to announce his opponent.
    Thoughts on this one? According to ESPN they agreed to 8 ounce gloves and to fight at 147...I still think Oscar might be too big for Pacman, Oscar has always had a good chin and who knows if Pacman will pack the same punch at 147...I'm hoping Pacman gets a fight in at 147 before the December showdown...

    DLH basically only boxes in high $ exhibitions these days. These fights might as well be fixed, because at minimum they feel scripted. I'll watch the fight, Manny shouldn't be able to win this fight, but we'll see. DLH seems to want to take the roll of the fall guy lately. Don't be suprised if Manny signs with Goldenboy propmotions shortly after the fight.

      I am mainly a north of 160 guy, but this is good for boxing and I will watch it.

      I just pray that Pac engages unlike PBF.

                  He's listed at

                  Height = 5'6" 1/2

                  Reach = 67"

                  Oscar has a significant advantage in size and keep in mind they will both weigh in at 147 but come fight night Oscar will be close to 155...This fight could be a repeat of Margarito/Cotto...

                    Mora is contractually obligated to face the Viper. ODLH needed an opponent before all the dates were filled. He was under the gun and had no choice.

                      There are a lot of boxing fans against this fight for many obvious reasons but I'll watch any fight with Manny. I'm a little scared for him, he looks like a little boy standing next to DLH, but I don't think the size gap will make too much of a difference. Pacman's speed will definitely dominate, and Oscar's age will definitely show, but the punching power of these guys I think will be the deciding factor.

                      Manny is a warrior and he will stand and trade with anyone, but that would spell doom for him if he tries that against Oscar, who, although according to Roach can't pull the trigger anymore, still IMO has punching power. One of his deadly left hooks, just one, could send the Mexicutioner to the mat. I mean Manny couldn't stun David Diaz until what, round 9(?), despite dominating the whole fight. He won't KO Oscar. Hopefully he can outbox him.

                            First, I am not your homeboy.

                            Second, to say ODLH ducks fighters further exposes your lack of knowledge for the sport.

                            Third, your boy retired at 31 years old rather than put himself at risk against other great fighters. So "let dat fall off ya lips."
