Talking to Larry Merchant, Oscar almost sounds like he EXPECTED to lose this fight.Comment

I thought Manny was gonna win but damn. lmfao. Good to see Oscar get busted up, I've rooted against him ever since they gave him the fight against Purnell Whitaker.Comment

also pac vs mayweather would require a 120hz tv just to catch the punches lolComment

Re: ESPN: DLH Vs Pacquiao, Dec. 6 @ MGM Grand
that was such a dominating performance , simply unbelievable.
I really think we're watching a top 10 fighter of all time here with pac-man, or at least approaching that status.
I hope he beats hatton then fights mayweather. IMO, mayweeather doesn't deserve to be mentioned along with pacquiao as a pure HOF fighter, unless he comes out from his hiding and beats pacquiao.
merchant made a great point in saying how pacman reached his status. He fights toe to toe and has developped great technical skills in the last 3 years. Mayweather is hit and move....which is effective, but won't win him votes as an all time great like the Ali, leonard , holyfield, etc.
that was such a great sporting event, one of the best I've watched in recent years to be sure.Last edited by phillyfan23; 12-07-2008, 12:08 AM.Comment

Hatton would get destroyed by Pacquiao. Mayweather couldn't hide forever. They will make it worth his while to fight Pacquiao, well worth his while.Comment

You shoulda heard Jim Lampley's comments, I was ROFL. At some point he said something like, "Pacquiao looks untouched, however, he is in the process of rearranging De La Hoya's pretty face". Then it was some statement where he likened Oscar to a lowly sparring partner for Pacquiao.Comment

Re: ESPN: DLH Vs Pacquiao, Dec. 6 @ MGM Grand
I think they will try to set up Pac fight with Hatton at 140 that will be a money fight for the both. Pac would win easily and then will have to go up and fight someone at 147 again to find a decent matchupComment

Re: ESPN: DLH Vs Pacquiao, Dec. 6 @ MGM Grand
I have to say I am pleasantly surprised at the outcome. I was rooting for Pacquiao all the way, and for him to go in there like he did, he is amazing. I don't want to hear about DLH being too old... everyone... all the experts, analysts, boxers... they all had DLH winning. Even something in the back of my head felt it was a mismatch in favor of the Golden Boy. For him to lose like he did... this is great. No question, pound for pound king. I am on a high here... this is crazy.

I thought Pac-Man would win, but to dominate DeLaHoya the way he did for me was un-expected. I really hope "Pretty Boy" was watching because I would love to see a "Pac-Man" V "Pretty-Boy" FightComment

Re: ESPN: DLH Vs Pacquiao, Dec. 6 @ MGM Grand
If they were to fight, what weight would it be? Could it be 147? That would be idea for pac after this fight.
I'm not so sure he would destroy hatton though...Hatton is rougher and dirtier and that could present an issue, plus hatton has a right hand.
I'm not going to guess an outcome for a while now - I was robbed of that right tonight being SO dead wrong. So I'll just sit back and enjoy the boxing/mma fights for the next few months.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: ESPN: DLH Vs Pacquiao, Dec. 6 @ MGM Grand
I don't see Hatton beating Pacman. I would think Pacman stops him as well and then the set up for PBF.
Based on the few comments, I truly hope this doesn't turn into a PBF bashing thread. The man has accomplishments and is retired at the moment. This should be about Pacman's accomplishment tonight and his (hopefully) ending DLH's career. No real reason for DLH to fight again, though i wouldn't be surprised if he and RJJ ended up in some fight together. Admittedly, it would be a trainwreck and I hope both retire and stay that way.
But again, props to Pacman and his dominant victory. Didn't see it THAT way, but glad he won...Comment
