I find it funny how every time PBF fights someone like Gatti, Hatton, and De La Hoya that before the fight everyone screams how PBF is gonna get showed up and get exposed. Then after the fight everyone screams how PBF was just too good and it was a poor fight choice. Everytime it never fails. Though I think Manny Pacquiao is a GREAT fighter and could beat anyone, I don't think he could beat Floyd. PBF is a born fighter and continues to beat everyone that people throw in front of him. I think the amount of hatred he draws to himself with his arrogance shadows the fact that he's one of the best fighter of the this generation. With that said Pac Man beat an old fighter with nothing left and he was impressive. But he's not PBF. Paul Williams is the only fighter close to PBF at this point and it would be an entertaining fight. PBF isn't a charismatic person but is definitely the greatest I've seen. People just love to hate him.

If you can find anyone who thought PBF was going to get "exposed" by Hatton or Oscar, I would like to see it as well.
Anyone who follows boxing understands that PBF is an ATG, possibly GOAT (he is GOAT in my opinion) at lightweight. But anything north of that, his resume is laughable. Baldo? Gatti? Out of class Hatton? Sharmba? And even his win against Oscar wasn't clear or impressive. It is especially ugly considering Oscar was just owned last night.
So going off on some "poor PBF" post is pretty, pretty ridiculous.Comment

Re: ESPN: DLH Vs Pacquiao, Dec. 6 @ MGM Grand
Once i heard Oscar's weight at the weigh-in i immediately put down $200 on Pacquiao...When Oscar took his robe off on fight night you knew it instantly he was in trouble...His only advantage in this fight was his size...Many expected Oscar on fight night to be anywhere between 155-160 not 147...That's why everyone was saying he would be too strong for Pacquiao, at 142-147 he nulified that...Watching the fight again it wouldn't have mattered if the Oscar we anticipated showed up because Manny's hand speed was such a big problem for him...Manny's straight left was landing through Oscars glove with such ease and he was getting beat to the punch so easily it was laughable...Plus Roach laid out a great fight plan and Manny executed it to perfection...The fact Oscar looked so frail and pathetic just made it a little easier for Manny...
Great job by Manny and his team, i hope they can set something up with Hatton...I would love to see a Mayweather/Pacquiao showdown but Mayweather isn't coming out of his shelter anytime soon...Comment

Re: ESPN: DLH Vs Pacquiao, Dec. 6 @ MGM Grand
To me Delahoya from round one looked terrible and slow and tired. Taking no credit from Manny who looked like the p4p king. Delahoya just didnt even try. barely threw any punches, and he was getting great advice from his corner.
The decision to be lighter than Manny was a huge mistake.
Pac vs Hatton followed by Pac vs mayweather would be ****ing spectacular!!"I'm addicted to Video Games, and i chase it with a little OS." -Winston ChurchillComment

Re: ESPN: DLH Vs Pacquiao, Dec. 6 @ MGM Grand
I think PBF should stay retired. The list of great fighters that get beat when they are well pass their prime, is a mile long.
I mean look at Roy Jones Jr, in his prime he was the best on the planet. Now its just sad to watch him fight.
The thing that makes DLH a great fighter, is he always wanted to fight the best. He deserves credit for that.New Zealand Warriors - All Blacks - Auckland Blues - New Orleans Saints - Orlando Magic - Queensland League

He flat out cannot execute a gameplan...and sometimes, even get the right gameplan going.
He should have been big as humanly possible Saturday night and fought like Lennox or Ali by constantly firing jabs...regardless of connection. He needed Pac on his heels and not allow him to get in a rhythm.
Regardless, Pac beat his *** and it was BY FAR the best thing for boxing.Comment

Re: ESPN: DLH Vs Pacquiao, Dec. 6 @ MGM Grand
Maybe my dislike for PBF tugs at my objectivity, but I am going with Hatton by UD. Here is why:
1. Oscar got a split decision. This immediately signals to me that judges and the public are tired of PBF's running and his style. Hatton will put much more pressure than Oscar ever could imagine on PBF.
2. Hatton's body work and hooks. Unlike Oscar, Hatton leads with hooks instead of jabs which will be easier for him to corral PBF. Combine that with the fact that most of the hooks are coming to the body and PBF's awkward defense naturally exposes himself, I think Hatton will be successful.
3. PBF "lost" to JLC in the first fight with a similar blueprint that Hatton will use but only better.
4. PBF has never fought a fighter as fast and relentless as Hatton from rounds 1-12.
5. Hatton has been on the biggest stage and has not crumbled. Between the two fighters, Hatton's dismantling of the ATG Kosta Tszyu is the best win.
Hatton UD.Comment

Re: ESPN: DLH Vs Pacquiao, Dec. 6 @ MGM Grand
Expose? I didn't. I had Hatton beating PBF. And it was the worst prediction I have ever made. There was a reason PFB forced Hatton to fight at 147. I don't think any higher of PBF at that weight because of that fight anymore than I give credit to Collazo.
And I predicted Oscar beating PBF which I still think at worst, it was a draw. And that Oscar-PBF only proved that Oscar can't execute a 12 round gameplan and when he does, in spurts, he is successful.
Every fight thread everyone thinks...yawn.Comment

Re: ESPN: DLH Vs Pacquiao, Dec. 6 @ MGM Grand
Maybe he thinks he's on the downward swing of his career, hence the retirement. Because if he looks as old as DLH did, game over.
But if his skills have not diminished, I would pick him to beat Pacman.New Zealand Warriors - All Blacks - Auckland Blues - New Orleans Saints - Orlando Magic - Queensland League

Re: ESPN: DLH Vs Pacquiao, Dec. 6 @ MGM Grand
If Pac does the same thing, I will only regard his early career as ATG status.
It is similar to RJJ. I put very little stock in his heavyweight belt accomplishment. He fought one of the worst paper belt champions of all-time that was tailormade for him. And no one recognized Ruiz as the champ except for an ABC belt.
But, I digress. All these weight class jumps are grossly overrated. Fighters kill themselves to make those lower weight classes. It isn't natural and it leads to better fights when they aren't drained.
I am just glad the younger, more exciting fighter won on Saturday. Even if PBF doesn't come out of retirement, Pac has a ton of different possiblities.Comment

let's not forget about erik morales, his first win against pac-man was pretty damn good and I think, really added to his legacy, especially now that pacman is starting to ascend to greater heights himself.Comment
