Re: Floyd Mayweather Pretty much telling you why he's not in Fight Night
It takes a foolish comments like yours to get me to post. Only fight Mayweather ever had trouble with was Castillo 1. Hes destoryed some of the best in the game. I just don't understand how you can think he somehow isn't the best P4P. In know way am I taking anything away from Pacquiao though, its just you have to beat the best to be considered the best in my eyes.Comment

Re: Floyd Mayweather Pretty much telling you why he's not in Fight Night
i agree.....but floyd BARELY beat an aging de la hoya. pacquiao is at the top of his game right now. and not only that, don't sleep on marquez. he may pull off an upset if floyd doesn't watch out. it make for an interesting fight. i mean, will floyd try to get a knockout to make a statement, or will he just try to get by on points to get to the superfight with manny?
Floyd is a gym rat and he wont sleep on his opp....
Floyd is cocky but dont make him out to be a guy who thinks he is the greastest of all time....
Floyd didnt "barely" beat DLH...Last edited by Jukeman; 05-21-2009, 08:34 AM.Comment

I think Bob Arum will prevent the fight.Comment

Re: Floyd Mayweather Pretty much telling you why he's not in Fight Night
This is just mayweathers plan. He's gonna come out and talk trash about being the best in the sport still. People are going to cry and say what about manny. After the tune up fight and the fight with Manny gets scheduled you guys will buy the fight and more will buy it b/c of the hype. Floyd will get close to his 60-40 split he wants, and beat pacquiao. A win win on his part"This game, and series, has nothing but contempt for you (now)"Comment

Re: Floyd Mayweather Pretty much telling you why he's not in Fight Night
If you could still be the Pound 4 Pound champ after you retired wouldn't Marciano still hold that title?
He stepped away from boxing, and they removed that moniker as they should. Manny has it right now. If Floyd wants that back, he can either fight Manny or wait for Manny to lose. Its his choice. I don't know why he's concerned about it anyway, his life revolves around 2 things...Money, and trying to make his father pround of him(he'd never admit this of course.). Its a very strange dynamic, but he and his dad will never get on the same page. Those family issues run deep.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment

Re: Floyd Mayweather Pretty much telling you why he's not in Fight Night
But i truly believe Arum will **** this up.
I also like how nobody is wanting Pac to fight Cotto at 147
I see Pac fight Juan Diaz next just because Arum and mayweather relationship sucks and they wont come to no type of agreement both weight wise or financially
and i guess Tim Bradley need some more high profile fights to get a consideration. He should fight Juan Diaz nextComment

Re: Floyd Mayweather Pretty much telling you why he's not in Fight Night
I dont think he denies the Money part. And from my understanding(i know his sister) him and his father are cool, they speak and they hang out but i agree he still trying to make his dad proud. I can be mad at him for that but thats for another thread.

But, I will say this. Floyd doesn't seem driven because he loves boxing. He seems to be searching for something he won't ever truly find.
I think Cotto is getting a bad rap because he got hit by Margarito's Horseshoe golves. Without that BS loss, Cotto and Pac would be a MEGA Fight at the Gardens.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment

Re: Floyd Mayweather Pretty much telling you why he's not in Fight Night
And we agree on Cotto and Pac. I still think Cotto is best PFP he got robbed Margarito and he would destroy Pac.
I love Mayweather but I dont know if he would fight Cotto because it wouldnt be a big pay day.
If i was a promoter i would try and set up Mosley vs Williams and Cotto vs Pac in September which would lead to a mega fight in February with either Cotto and Williams or Mayweather and Pac.
(I think Mosley suck by the way and is a cheater)Comment

Re: Floyd Mayweather Pretty much telling you why he's not in Fight Night
That may be true but the fight was scheduled for 12 rounds was it not. Superior conditioning is not a reason to take some thing from the man. He went 12 and won, not his fault DLH didn't have anything left in the tank.
He worked his way to the top and had every right to make people come to him. Before he got his big money, he had to fight to earn the right to go after Gatti. Gatti wasn't coming to him nor were the other top guys at 140 prior to his destruction of Gatti. Cotto, Williams and Mosley aren't worth it to him. Simply put what do those guys bring to him. He beats them he was suppose to beat them he loses well then every one can trash PBF. Floyd doesn't owe any of those names a damn thing. They aren't at his level yet so why should he come down to theirs?
First fight in 2 years and you want him to go after the current P4P #1. Why can't he have a warm-up fight to get his barrings back, I'm sure there will be some ring rust. I think that this is just an unfair criticism on your part. He could've picked any tomato can at 140 or 147, he is at least fighting a guy that will hit him and be a game competitor, and it's boxing so as long as Marquez is throwing he has a great punchers chance.
It's not hard to tell that I am a PBF fan. One of the more gifted and talented boxers I've seen make his way through boxing. Being only 27 I missed out on the rise of some of the real greats, but it's still been a pleasure to watch PBF. I see the point to some of your arguments, I just hope that I brought a decent counter point to the argument.I'm So Winston-Salem!Comment

Re: Floyd Mayweather Pretty much telling you why he's not in Fight Night
IMO, I dont think he really care about that lol, he still gonna make more $ than Pac no matter who is P4P, it aint like PBF went to the media and started spazzing out...The media came to him and asked him a question and to speak the truth, I wouldnt have said that Manny is the P4P either especially after retiring on top while P4P#1 and had a better career lol thats just silly for him or any person to say and downgrade themself....He is 32 not 42...
Floyd's the one always crying about not getting respect. He doesn't understand why he's not the People's champion and it gnaws at him. Floyd calls himself Money, but believe me, money doesn't buy that guy happiness. He's searching for something else.
People who understand boxing appreciate what Floyd does. Casual fans hate his style.
I appreciate his defensive ability but I think he's very beatable by an active fighter. But Floyd is going to be very selective and pick his fights. He'll retire again in 2 years undefeated. Then Unretire and age will catch up to him and he'll get beat.
Frustrating thing about Floyd is that he could be leaving a great Legacy, but in 10 years, maybe 5, noone is even going to mention Floyd.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment
