    Re: Official Slider Discussion Thread

I just had my best fighter ever Cotto vs ManPac with AWR at 5.

12 round, I got knocked out. I see the score card I was winning in all 3 cards 104-103

I conected on 43% of my punches while he connected on 41%.

The biggest difference for me is that the CPU defense is better.

Im horrible at describing it but these changes dont make it automatic , its alot of risk reward I mean how many heavyweight matches go the distance ?
In 3 matches Buster KO me tyson in the 8th and 9th but I got him in the 7th for a KO victory.
You really have to guard yourself as the cpu will make you pay with major damage just like real boxing .
      I'll try lightweights next
What sliders are you using for Legacy?

Sliders between Fight Now and Legacy Mode definitely aren't going to be easy.

I've started getting consistent Contender scores on the heavy bag push, so I did some testing.

I used Joe Calzaghe on Champion and started with the punch power at 5. I scored Contender. I then raised the punch power to 10. Instantly I got my first Champion rating ever.

PS - 3 times in a row with Tyson with power at 5, all 3 scores between 4100 and 4300. 1st time with power at 10 - 8594.

at 0 none all the above happen, it was either I get knocked out or win by decision....its like turning AWR down to 0 dumbs down the REAL AI

Off awr has nothing to do with acc, it can up the % tho because they are pickng their spots and looking for openings but its not making them hit at a higher %, its up to the user to dodge the punches

WOW... just tried these in my legacy against a guy rated about the same as me, but his stats were better where it counted, I got floored 4 times and KO'd in the 4th

Wow Juke - I finally won a match with your settings in my legacy- I got dropped 2x in the first 3 rounds, but I gotta say, it was pretty rewarding

              Hi P,
I told legacy is a different animal than fight now not even close .lol
You gotta figure in the boost/cheat as it switches from match to match level to level which I hate in all games very cheap way to program games.
So you will basically have to adjust as you go
I learned this the hard playing on easy to unlock all gear .

                  Re: Official Slider Discussion Thread

Well I'm putting the CPU Defensive Awareness Back up from (0). When I had it at (10) on Champion it seemed I was getting more fights going the distance, cause now with it on (0), I'm knocking guys out left and right in both Legacy and Fight Now.

Here is some sliders I was testing before I went to bed last night that gave me 3 really interesting rounds with (me) Adamek vs Calzaghe and a full bout with (me) Corrales vs Nate Campbell, I won with a 10th round KO....here are the sliders I was using

                  GOAT
                  Round Length: 2 min
                  Camera: Wide
Save by the bell: Last round only

                  Ref Foul Awareness: 10
                  Ref Damage Awareness: 10
                  Boxer Power: 4
                  Boxer Speed: 4
                  Boxer Toughness: 2
                  CPU Offensive Awareness: 5
                  CPU Defensive Awareness: 5
                  CPU Punch Output: 0

Like Parker said, Boxer Power and Toughness is very key. I'm a firm believer that if a guy gets countered with a clean punch, he should be stunned or maybe even a flash KD. What I'm aiming for with these sliders are to make the user and the AI box, and for big punches to feel like big punches. When I played in my Legacy on Champion there were times when the AI and myself would take some big shots and we wouldn't get stunned or flash KD's. There is risk and reward when trying to land big shots and that's what I'm trying to impliment in these sliders.

Another thing I notice was that on GOAT the CPU Punch Output on (0) the AI is selective and doesn't take many risk with leading hools and upper cuts. You will still have counter chances but not as many as you would get on Champion. One thing I do like about Champion was the CPU Defensive Awareness at (10), the AI fought hard and smart, and forced me to adjust, which is what I loved. If I do move back down to Champion I'm going to always have the CPU Def. Awareness at (10). But these GOAT will be my base for now.

                        Re: Official Slider Discussion Thread

This is where I am right now in my legacy, tweaking sliders as I went using Parker's as a starting point. I used basic common sense and what little knowledge I have of boxing to change things. I am going to give a ton of info (I usually don't) to see what changes may or may not need to be made. I am even adding a couple of vids. I feel when you have more info, it is usually more help.

I just won the World heavyweight Championship and am 38-0 with 38 KO's. Besides a couple of fights I forgot to switch from training to fight sliders I played all matches on Champion level. I took my time progressing the ranking for the purpose of training, getting in 97% of my fights every three months to have two training sessions and when I turned 28 I started getting in 3 training sessions. I intentionally fought a few cans along the way to be sure I wasn't biting off more than I could chew, but I kept it even and competitive.

My fighter is 6'2" 220lb Southpaw with a 75" reach. My best punch is the rear uppercut and the signature punch is a ducking lead uppercut. My style for this legacy is inside fighting with an emphasis on ending the fight early. Side note - I had a previous legacy where I was an outside fighter, so I went the other way this time. There really is a difference in the styles and you must fight according to your boxers strengths/weaknesses. Awesome game!

My opponent was a 6'8", 260lb righty with a balanced stance and style.
Mine and the CPU's attributes before the fight were:
                        Human/CPU
                        Overall 89/87
                        Left hand power 89/92
                        Right hand power 87/89
                        Hand speed 88/87
                        Accuracy 100/88
                        Foot speed 73/92
                        Head move. 91/87
                        Block strength 100/89
                        Head tough. 93/86
                        Body tough. 89/90
                        Stamina 100/89
                        Heart 95/88
                        Cuts 97/65
                        Swelling 78/61
                        Chin 99/90

Scorecard of last fight (6th round KO):

                        Me 10 9 10 8 9 - 46
                        CPU 8 10 8 10 10 - 46

                        Punch totals:
                        Human
                        Total - 54% 222/409
                        Head - 56% 177/314
                        Body - 47% 45/95

                        CPU knocked me down once

                        CPU - 57% 293/522
                        Head - 51% 151/291
                        Body - 64% 142/220

I knocked CPU down three times

I'm sorry this is so long, but I wanted to be scrutinized openly and honestly. I am not a cheeser and refuse to learn to win. Here are the sliders I used for the last fight:

                        TKO on
Saved by bell in last only
                        Ref sliders both 10
                        Power 6
                        Speed 1
                        Damage 8
                        Toughness 4
                        OFF AWR 5
                        DEF AWR 5
                        Output 5

The lower speed really tempers the countering ability of the CPU. Nothing is more irritating than fighting a much slower or less talented boxer and having your counters counter when you are fighting very strategically. In tweaking sliders I wanted to respect my opponents abilities without them being overdone. I know Ali is faster than me, but if we are the same as far as hand speed I don't want him to be faster. I know Foreman can knock me out with one good jab, but I don't want to hit him with the same punch in the same way and circumstance and it not do the same to him, especially if I have the better chin. Balance is what I was shooting for. Anyway, here is the vid. I am going to tweak the output slider down, but I am not sure where at the moment. I may lower the OFF AWR to 3 or 4 and raise the DEF AWR to 6 or 7. The vid's below. Feel free to leave feedback on any of this. Thanks guys.

Looks pretty good, but seems like a LOT of thrown punches by the CPU for less than 6 full rounds.

I might try it with a lower punch output.

I just finished a mandatory title defense against a 70 OVR fighter with a slightly tweaked slighter set. I need to change something. I have the speed set on one and my 90 hand speed was just a hair faster than his 76 hand speed. Several times I had my counters countered with Ali like speed and precision, even though his punch accuracy is 69. I have 87 and 90 power and his 77 chin and 74 head toughness withstood some crazy shots. I am going to either lower toughness or raise power. That fight was too long and difficult. I knocked out Tommy Morrison, Joe Frazier and George Foreman faster than that and my power and toughness have been set at six and four for some time. I am starting to think the CPU doesn't factor attributes as much on Champion.

I will tone down the CPU output. It was at four for the last fight, I will drop it back to two or three. I am going to fight the next fight with one on speed and six on DEF AI. After that I am going to try zero speed and seven DEF and see what happens.

I am amazed that guy didn't go down in the third. His face was bloody and by the time I finally knocked him out in the 7th he was well ahead on all cards. As the late Bernie Mack would say' "This is some buuuull."

                            I will update shortly.

Very interesting. Ignoring attribute ratings would be par for the course with EA.

Parkers Toughness and Power concept is dead on. With toughness at (2) and Power at (4)you see power shots have the effect they should. And if I do play Champion the CPU Defense for me has to be above (7).
