Let the "HYPE" begin... Pacquiao V Cotto (Nov 14th) MGM Grand

I'm kind of surprised Cotto is taking this fight so soon after Clottey. That cut he suffered in the Clottey fight seemed ugly enough to warrant @ least a 6 month lay-off.

    They've agreed to fight @ 145 lbs.

Yeah I read about it today...I think Pac Man wins by a decision. He is too fast for Cotto who I think lost to Clottey.

I think Manny will destroy him.

And the reason that I say that is that I've always given the other guy a fighter's chance...and Manny proves me wrong.

Since the last Marquez fight, Manny has been improving at a rate that I haven't seen in a while. He was always explosive, but working with Roach has made him fast, smarter, and most of all, more balanced. I think he might just be the best PFP fighter in all of boxing.

And like I said, the thing I really base this on is the fact that he just keeps doing it. Hard to bet against the man.

Sweet can't wait for this. Should be a great fight, i keep saying that and Manny keeps destroying dudes. Cotto is in his prime and a notch above Hatton and DelaHoya, this should be Pac Mans first real true test since JMM.

Tough one here folks. Not as cut and dry as it may seem. Pac IMO still has not been hit by a TRUE welterweight, and Cotto is a big one. The 145 weight favors Cotto IMO.

Another test of speed vs size for Manny. If Cotto fights like he did against Clottey, this is a no-brainer. Manny by TKO or UD. Cotto was slow and left himself open.

I'd love to see a good, contested fight for Manny for once. I also think the 145 catchweight favors Cotto, but Cotto will simply not be able to handle Pacman's speed.

I agree. And while Cotto may have lost to Clottey, it really could have went either way...the problem was the judges had it a landslide victory. Hell, I think Clottey would be a formidable opponent for Pacquiao.

Win or lose, Pacquiao definitely ain't knocking out Cotto. How many times has Cotto been knocked out? Once? By Margarito who had plaster in his gloves?

...not only does pac have power in both hands,

-he is an accurate puncher and throws punches from all angles
-he is not going to be standing in front of cotto all night like marg was...he is a much more evasive fighter.
-he is a southpaw, which will confuse cotto and help pac say away from cottos kill shot.
-he has superior hand and foot speed over cotto.

cotto's only advantage is weight, and i'm not sure that will be enough.

next to pac's speed i think cottos biggest problem is going to be the southpaw stance.

i am a fan of both fighters, but i am taking pac in this one, and i'm going to go out on a limb and call it relatively easy(yeah, call me crazy, but it's much more fun this way)

                  pac in 8

Yeah, but it seems like this is what we say about Manny every time he moves up.

                      PacMan only weighed 142 against Oscar's 145.

Nah, anyone that saw DLH before the fight we knew what was going to happen and Hatton is C level today, yesterday and since he stepped in the ring.

Well Clottey is a good fighter and will make 8 out of 10 guys look bad, his style isnt crowd pleasing.

That may be your opinion, but it wasn't the prevailing opinion at the time. Every time Manny has taken a new fight, everybody says that he's gonna struggle with the bigger man, he hasn't fought a true xxx-weight yet, etc.

                            And then he destroys them.

The simple fact is that Manny gets better with every fight. He's got two hands now, he's getting stronger, and he's not losing any speed.

Cotto may have a fighting chance, but recent history has taught me to bet on Manny. He's got something magic about him right now.

Cotto has no defense and cuts easily.

Pac is gonna pick him apart.

My first thought was that Cotto is too big/powerful.

But I see Pac winning by TKO.
