A really tough one to predict. Has the makings of a classic.

Cotto has as good or better technique than Pacquiao, he is more versatile, and the bigger man. One thing that worries me is the possible edge in the corner with Pacquiao having Roach and Cotto missing his uncle and instead having his former nutricionist as trainer... Otherwise the PR school of boxing is an edge for Cotto.

Pacquiao started his career at 108, he's definitely a much smaller dude, an elite boxer like Cotto will expose that size advantage. Cotto is willing to take the shots Oscar wasn't in order to land punches Pacquiao has never felt before and slowly break him down. Pacmnan will land, but I see more possibility of a flash knockdowns than Cotto actually getting hurt. Unless he's lost a step after Margarito/Clottey, I like Cotto by TKO.

I asked this in the "Legacy Progress" thread, and it went unanswered...

How do you unlock Miguel Cotto to be used in FIGHT NOW?

Since we're talking about Cotto here in this thread...

Anyone hear that the Pacquiao camp got rid of Michael Moorer? I just found out. Happened like a month ago. I guess he was trying to run the show, kicking people out of the Wild Card gym, bossing people around, just rubbing everyone the wrong way, etc. Obviously you want good chemistry but I'm kinda disappointed by this. I remember watching a video where it was either Pacquiao or Roach that credited MM with figuring out Hatton's vulnerability to the short right hook. I thought that was one of the most brilliant strategies I've ever seen, considering the short work Pacman made of the Hatton fight. Oh well. You could tell from the 24/7 series that Roach and MM weren't really getting along as co-trainers.

I thought they were grooming Moorer to be his successor? Doesn't Freddy Roach have Parkinsons or something?

I think that was the plan. But no one at the gym liked Moorer.

Now if Pacquiao stays away from Cotto & fights an outside fight, then he's gonna win easily IMO, but if he chooses to stand there & try to show the world he can go toe 2 toe with the best of the them, he's gonna get knockout...

Speaking of HYPE, what did everybody think of JCC Jr?

First time I saw him fight, and I wasn't impressed.

Pacquiao went toe to toe with Cotto. He was asking Cotto to give him all he got and it even looked like he purposefully took Cotto's punches against the ropes. He lured him towards the corner and allowed Cotto to hit him. And Cotto hit him with his punches ... they weren't just one-hit hooks or jabs, they were combos ... and when he saw the Pacquiao could take them, he was demoralized.

He's pretty bad. Does he even know what a jab is? Can he throw even a two-punch combination?

If his last name was anything but Chavez, he would be considered a glorified club fighter. Because that's exactly what he is.
