I know that the pbc fights are normally Al Heyman fighters. Ward is roc nation and with hbo. I think pbc is basically only shown on showtime/cbs, Fox, Spike, and now espn. Would be nice though. It refreshing seeing a ppv caliber fight on regular tv. Great for boxing

            Thanks, I'll have to.
The reason I've stayed away is that I really dislike Jake Gyllenhaal as an actor.
Someone described him looking like a 'sad turtle' and I think that's the best description for him, haha.
He just doesn't seem believable as a tough guy.

Did it drive anybody else absolutely bonkers that the movie's called "Southpaw," yet he's an orthodox fighter?

There is a catch with the name. Not sure how to do spoilers

Supposedly the part was originally made for Eminem (who is a lefty), but Jake Gyllenhaal had to step in.

If you're referring to the bit toward the end, that just came across to me as "oh crap, we need to make the name of the movie relevant." (I don't think that's too spoilerific. Hope not.)

Much more interested in Hands Of Stone. Paz was a tough guy, but I was never a fan. Duran's move up to the welterweight ranks including his victory over a very good Carlos Palomino and his two fights with Leonard always caught my interest. Their first battle was the biggest thing since Ali-Frazier I.

Looks like Golovkin and Eubank Jr is nearly set:
Will a fight between Gennady Golovkin and Chris Eubank Junior - the man who has been calling him out for some time, even recently posting a hugely confident

Triple-G is doing his best to clean out the MW division.
Outside of the obvious bout with Yellow Alvarez, the only other fighters he has to face are Billy Jo Saunders, Quillen, Jacobs and possibly Andy Lee (a fight I'd love to see. Guaranteed KO finish).

And out of those guys, I think the only fighters that aren't running scared are Saunders and Lee.

You think Lee has a chance to KO GGG?

LOL, no. Guaranteed KO for GGG.
Golovkin seems to have an iron chin, so I don't see Lee getting lucky by being on the ropes and winning in dramatic fashion like has recently.

Looks like Golovkin is fighting Kell Brook September 10th:
In a huge announcement that went out live on Sky Sports news just minutes ago, it was announced how superstar Gennady Golovkin will face Kell Brook on

                                Say it ain't so Triple-G!
Did he take a page out of Yellow Alvarez's playbook.

Are they going to swap fighting WW's until Yellow steps in the ring?

“When this fight was first offered to me I accepted within minutes. Everyone knows I’m a huge welterweight and I know I will carry my speed and accuracy and even more power through the weights. This is the ultimate fight. You have seen some huge names run from GGG but I am running to him. I’m a special fighter and I will show the world on September 10.”
I've read that GGG walks in at around 175.
What does Kell weigh at fight-time? Maybe 160?

This is a more competitive fight than the farce known as Yellow vs Khan. But still.
And to GGG's credit, it sounds like really did want to find Eubank but he balked.
