GGG wins in 7. Sucks it wasn't on TV in the states.

Deontay's next fight is feather hitting Malik Scott. Might go 3 rounds.

I hope Ortiz saved some of his Floyd money.

HBO Sports dropped the ball completely on that. No excuse for one of the few top flight fighters they still broadcast to not be on TV. None at all.

Yeah I saw that. Both guys still need to step up and face someone decent. Both have talent, it'd be nice to see how they do against tougher opponets.

Except that isn't what happened at all. HBO was having trouble getting their broadcast to work in the arena so the bailed. Regardless of who he was fighting fans of boxing want to see GGG fight.

Oh, well that's messed up on hbo's part. Can't really say i'm that upset about it though honestly, i would of been mad if it was a huge fight, but since he's fighting another no name i don't really care.

Just another crack in the HBO boxing franchise...can't even get their one exciting fighter on TV properly.

When the hell is GGG going to fight someone worthwhile? I give him credit for demolishing Macklin and Curtis Stevens, but at some point, if people are going to seriously start talking about him among the best, he's going to have to beat someone of real note.

Seems like they could have avoided the Monte Carlo logistic problems by simply having the fight somewhere else. Not very good coordination between HBO, Golovkin's team, and the promoters.

Cotto vs Martinez confirmed for June 7th at MSG. Thoughts?

I wanna see Cotto win this one. I've always been a huge Cotto fan, and now he's with Freddie Roach. Would love to see him win on top of the Middleweight division.

Wow, did I just read "a catchweight of 159"? I guess ever pound counts.

I'll be rooting for Sergio. Hopefully he's fully healed after what will be a 14 month layoff.

Yeah, i reallly like that fight. It's gonna be tough though, because i'm a fan of both fighters. I might have to pull for cotto though. If martinez comes in this fight looking sharp and 100%(meaning he recovers and isn't having knee problems and hand problems again) i see him beating cotto. I'm curious to see how martinez will look in this fight.

Last two times out Sergio has looked beatable, and Cotto seems to be enjoying a career revival of sorts. As someone else mentioned if Martinez is all the way back and can shake off the ring rust, I think he is the better fighter at this point, but I don't know if he is all the way back and I like Cotto to get the win and maybe a 11th round stoppage.

I've never been a big Cotto fan, but I became more sympathetic to him after he was jobbed by Margarito - he was never quite the same fighter after that. Having said that, I'm also not that big of a S-Mart fan, although he was a great fighter. I'm thinking this fight would have been absolute dynamite 3 years ago, but now, I just don't know. Both guys are clearly on the downside of their careers and S-Mart, last time I saw him, was going downhill faster than the USA-1 bobsled. I have no idea what to make of the catchweight; I think S-Mart goes down in the fight but wins in the end. But honestly, I have no idea, and no result would really surprise me that much. I mean, would you really be shocked if Cotto knocked out S-Mart, who's been down on multiple occasions in his last several fights? Or if the power was still there for one more fight for Martinez, who should be fighting a smaller man? Or any decision in between?

I wonder if this is deserving of its own thread...
