Golden Boy is going to launch a Monday Night Boxing series on Fox 1, first card is August 19, two days after the network launches.

Hmm..I wonder if I get Fox 1? I bet I don't.

USA's "Tuesday Night Fights" was superb. they showed a nice blend of known fighters and very good prospects. definitively willing and looking forward to giving monday night fights a shot. just hope the cards are interesting enough to maintain interest.

Man, I feel so bad for Andre Berto. Last fight he took a thumb to the eye, and was getting rabbit punched all fight, this one, he falls and probably separated his shoulder if nothing else. Got a 11th round KD and then lost when he got to his feet after being hit with a nice counter left, only to not be given the standing 8 count (in a fight that was a draw going into the 12th on the judges cards) for his third loss in 4 fights.

I hope he fights again with Virgil Hunter as his trainer, because he was actually hitting Soto Karass with a nice counter right upper cut early in the fight. He has won me over as a fan with his heart the last two fights. Hope he can fix whatever is going wrong with him right now.

i think it might be time for Berto to hang it up. constant arm/shoulder injuries, eyes always swelling up....don't want to see him risk his long-term health. he's had a solid career, but i think he's achieved all he can as a fighter.

Yeah, Berto needs to pack it in. Unless he blew it all he made a small fortune in this game. The general consensus is he was very much overpaid and over hyped by HBO.

About the only thing I see on the horizon is Kovalev VS Cleverly in just over two weeks. Kovalev is a huge, scary puncher coming off a destruction of a very good Cornelius White. Cleverly is undefeated, solid, but I don't think he has the power to neutralize the "Crusher". I'd like to see Stevenson/Kovalez down the road.

I don't wanna take this too far off topic, but I'm really excited to see so many different networks giving boxing a chance to shine. Overall I love what NBCSN is doing right now. They're doing an excellent job with my favorite sport Formula One. The Tour De France a few weeks back was great and they also secured the rights to the Premier League which I'm really looking fwd to. NBCSN is definitely a welcome alternative to ESPN I can't stand that crap anymore.

Also wanted to chime in about Berto. Somehow her reminds me of Zab Judah. I don't think either fighter was ever overhyped, they were both really talented prospects but neither seemed to ever reach the full expectations that the fans and boxing 'experts' placed on them. I'm not really sure we can blame either of them for that.
