I don't think either have too many great opponents that they have beaten. Geale did hold the IBF Middleweight title for a couple of years, so that is a plus on any boxer's resume.

I just thought that Stevens was a decent threat to GGG. His left hook is a killer, and the way that Golovkin handled him was impressive.

Geale on the other hand? I don't know what he can do against this guy. I'd be shocked if it's not a brutal beat down.

You dont think geale has a better resume than curtis? Anthony mundine is a more notable opponent than anyone curtis beat. Just because an opponent is overseas doesnt mean they're somehow less credible.

He's also old. If you check both Geale and Golovkin records the number good opponents are nearly identical except GGG has fought more experienced opponents.

Yeah, I see where Soliman beat Sturm this Saturday (Didn't even know they fought) to move Geale up from #3 to #2 and Sturm down from #2 to #5. And the 40 year old Soliman goes from unranked all the way up to #4. Golden Boy owns Ring. I've never heard of any bias when it comes to rankings. Don't mind me. I'm just rambling.

What about Martinez-Cotto? Anyone getting this fight?

Wait, do you realize i was talking about geale and curtis stevensons resumes when i said geales was better? Not ggg. Although on paper geale has fought more notable opponents than him(not saying he will win, but ggg hasnt really fought that many solid names other than macklin and i guess stevenson.

Well, tonights the night. Man i'm hyped for this fight, i still can't say who i actually want to win because i'm a fan of both guys. But i do think if martinez is healthy and isn't having knee problems he will stop cotto. His style of being a rangy counter puncher with great speed and power is defniitely not a good match up for cotto

Another last minute purchase. I forgot about it, fortunately got an up to the second update from Bleacher Report. Buffer is just announcing them.

Three knockdowns in the first round. WOW.

Sergio seemed to settle down in round 2 but Cotto looks good.

yeah this is sad man, martinez knees are shot. he has very little mobility, cotto is looking sharp. But martinez right knee is screwed.

                            Sergio don't quit though.

EDIT: After 7 Cotto in total control although Sergio has fought better.

EDIT: Dominating victory for Cotto. Sergio doesn't come out for the 10th round.

Well, that's probably it for Martinez career. Cotto looked great, but honestly i’m not satisfied with this fight. Martinez knee was clearly blown out, there’s no way he was gonna beat someone(especially someone like cotto) fighting like that. Feel bad for martinez, it’s a shame to see his knees gone like that. He can't come back from this. Congrats to cotto though, he did what he needed to and deserved it. I'm happy to see him make history for puerto rico.

I'm not either. It wasn't only Sergio's knee, he just didn't have the reflexes or power necessary to get the job done. He was simply a shell of himself. He should have been the faster one and the stronger one tonight and he obviously wasn't.

Kellerman got a little too excited hinting that Cotto would be a favorite against any middleweight. Now a matchup that looked impossible after Trout, is one of the most attractive out there.....GGG VS Cotto.
