Cotto-Canelo would be the biggest fight for them.

I know SM was shot but damn Cotto just wrecked him. 3 knockdowns in the first round was insane. First 10-6 round I have seen in quite a while.

Yeah, but how much of Sergio being shot contributed to the wrecking? Anyone interested in a Trout rematch? Me neither.

EDIT: Sergio disrespected money wise again. Cotto gets a guaranteed $7 million, while Sergio gets $1.5 million. SM could get more with big PPV numbers.

I've been listening to Kellerman throughout the week, and he keeps saying Cotto is better than ever. I don't buy that at all. I think Kellerman is just trying to sell a HBO fighter. I think GGG would win by KO.

Cotto is a great fighter imo.
Don't get me wrong, I love how Cotto's fighting recently.
But Mayweather doesn't murder anyone (which is why everyone wants to fight him) and Martinez was shot (he's also a small middleweight who walks around at 165).

I just don't see Cotto mixing well with true middleweights.
I'm not sure he could handle guys like Stevens, Quillen or GGG.
Triple-G in particular would probably end Cotto's career.

I agree. I don't think he'll even fight any of those guys. The fight he wants is Alvarez. He'll make a fortune and it's at junior middle.

What a shocker. I didn't even remotely agree with Lederman-Light's scorecard, but I didn't think they'd give it to Algieri. The guy gets knocked down twice in the first round, his eye completely shut, seemingly totally outclassed, and yet he puts together one of the slickest, guttiest boxing exhibitions I've ever seen.

That guy's got balls of steel. I had him winning via the boxing clinic you referred to. Good for him.

It was tough to score. Olympic Boxing he wins clearly. But who landed the cleaner more effective punches? I still say Algeri did in many rounds they were cleaner, but not really effective, but I didn't have him overcoming the 10-7 first round. I enjoyed watching that fight. Styles make fights. Hopefully they rematch it. It would be interesting to see how they each would approach a rematch.

                    I 2nd that.

But if they can't, I would absolutely love to see Provodnikov fight Danny Garcia.

Provodnikov didn't seem really interested in fighting a boxer in his post fight interview. He mentioned struggling against "guys who move" and wants to fight guys who "will stay infront of him and fight". Obviously money talks, but he didn't seem keen on a rematch.

Does anyone know what Algieri's weight was coming into the ring?
The dude looks like he could grow to 154 without much effort. But seeing as he's 30, he's been able to maintain his weight pretty well. I'm kind of shocked he can still cut to 140.

Do you gents think Algieri beats Pac?

I did not, but his is a professional nutritionist, so I think he knows the "healthiest" ways to cut and gain weight.

That was kind of a trap question by Kellerman. In fact, I wanted to whipe the smirk off Kellerman's face at that point.

He answered the question as he saw fit. Of course he wants to fight a guy that's going bang because he's a banger and a real tough one at that. But no doubt he'd fight Algeri in a rematch, he has no chance of getting hurt by him and he'll trap him and go to the body. If Algeri is favored in a rematch, I'll mortgage my house and head to Vegas.

Cotto looked good, but Martinez was fighting him with 1 leg tied behind his back literally after the first knockdown. He had no movement and no power because he couldn't plant.

I'm not saying Cotto wouldn't have won the fight anyway, but Martinez on a bum knee was basically a tomato can.

I wouldn't mind seeing Cotto vs. Canello, but I think Cotto may be out of his league at 154. SM in his condition was not a good measuring stick.
