Re: Boxing Off-Topic
GGG just seeks and destroys everybody. What about Carl Froch's comments that were reflected on by Lampley and Kellerman last night?
“Just swerve Golovkin like the plague. He punches like a mule. “I don’t need to be in with him. Dangerous fight.”
Yeah, the statement apparently carried some ambivalence-Lampley said Froch's comments were made when he was asked how he would he fight GGG (his response doesn't make total sense), but as reported, the bottom line is a hard hitting 168 pounder said he'd have to be very careful about the power of a 160 pounder moving up to super middleweight.Comment

Re: Boxing Off-Topic
Good win, against a solid opponent. Geale wasn't amazing or anything, but he's still solid. It's time for him to fight a big name. I'd love to see him fight ward(though i don't think he wants anything to do with ward honestly) but fights with canelo, chavez jr, and cotto would be interesting.Comment

After that, I'd love to see Golovkin clear out the division before taking on a 168-pounder like Ward - who I think would be too much for him.
Regarding last nights fight, even though Geale isn't a top-tier middleweight, he's still a top 10 guy who had never been stopped.
Not only did Golovkin end it in 2 rounds, he did so with a punch that wasn't 100%.
He was hit with a pretty solid right-hand before landing his own. I can only imagine what kind of damage he might have levied if that was a full punch.Last edited by Money99; 07-27-2014, 07:47 PM.Comment

Re: Boxing Off-Topic
Yeah, i don't think chavez jr really deserves that kind of fight either. But it would be an entertaining fight, and a good way to gauge his power. If GGG can somehow knockout chavez jr who has an iron chin and will come in as a cruiser weight pretty much. That would be pretty damn impressive. Plus i like the idea of GGG ending chavez jr's career at middleweight and kicking his big *** out of the division honestly.Comment

@danrafaelespn
As per Kathy Duva and IBF, Hopkins-Kovalev is signed. Contingent on Kovalev not losing Saturday. #boxingComment

Re: Boxing Off-Topic
Rios Chavez card was solid, despite the horrible ref. I've seen that ref before, but i've heard that he's always been terrible. The main event was a great fight though, rios was landing some killer body shots and dominating on the inside, while chavez was landing some really flush clean shots up stairs. Rios has some kind of freaky chin. Could of made a case for either guy winning. Sucks it had a weird unsatisfying ending. But even more importantly, who's ready to see HOPKINS VS KOVALEV?! I bet the people saying hopkins would duck him/never fight him feel dumb now. Can't wait to see that, it's gonna be an interesting fight. And i think hopkins will surprise a lot of people and beat him.Comment
