So is Ward and Roc Nation playing games now not showing up to the Kovalev Ward presser?

GGG and Brook weigh-in 30-days before fight.
            Golovkin - 165lbs
            Brook - 176lbs

As per WBC standards, both fighters couldn't be more than 10% over the MW limit (176lbs).

Gennady Golovkin, (35-0, 32 KO’s) and Kell Brook (36-0, 25KO’s) have both weighed in within the World Boxing Council’s (‘WBC’) required 30-day limits heading

Wow. Everyone knew Brook was a big welterweight, but it's hard for me to believe that 30+ pounds heavier than his weight at his last bout is even possible. I wonder what his normal walking-around weight is?

If he's 176lbs 30-days out, I'm guessing his walk-around weight could be close to 180?
I have to think that he'd be much lighter if he was fighting as a WW in 30 days. Probably closer to 155 at this point.

In any event, I was shocked that he was over 10lbs heavier than Triple-G.
When I first read it, I did a double-take to make sure it wasn't an error and they meant Golovkin was 176.

Like you said, everyone knew Brook was a big welterweight, but not this big.
I'll be interested to see what their ring-weight will be. Probably closer to one another than people might have first thought and certainly closer than what Yellow-Khan was.

The fight was announced two months (July 8th) before it will start (September 10th) so it's interesting that Brook is a month in and weighing 176 pounds. GGG doesn't take much time off so he was in some sort of training before the announcement.

That being said Brook looks pretty solid at 176.

Think Brook is gonna need more than a few extra lbs

Brook has never fought anyone who can dish out this kind of "controlled punishment", nor has he fought anyone with a fraction of GGG's power. Gennady has also fought "proportionately" stronger punchers in Stevens, Lemieux, and even Rubio. The power factor can't be ignored, so I see Brook on his heels early, tasting some power and then figuring out there is no way he's going to win this.

He's too strong. It's why Seagal chickened out against Van Damme. (LOL)

They're doing the 10 pt must system now too.
