I interpreted the story that Teddy's post-fight tirade about the Horn-Pacquiao judging and then his explosion at Steven A. last Saturday were too much for Top Rank and ESPN to tolerate.

Teddy is like Al Pacino's roles since "Scarface" -- an increasing self-caricature. I love Teddy's passion, but he spends far too much time on his soapbox and not enough time analyzing fights during broadcasts. So it's probably time for him to graze in the pasture.

No chance unless another premium channel gets involved in boxing.

Haymon never would hire Teddy for PBC because Teddy would refuse to adhere to the vapid PBC corporate line that's little more than open shilling.

The lineups at Showtime and HBO are set, with Paulie Malignaggi and Andre Ward getting comfortable in their new roles as analysts at Showtime and HBO, respectively. Plus Showtime already has Bernstein, and HBO has Kellerman.

There's no room in the inn for Teddy, even if he still was sane on the air.

I might be in the minority but I really won't miss Teddy that much. I like a more low key analyst who doesn't think he's the main event.

Agree. I used to love Teddy in the early years of "Friday Night Fights" because his analysis was good despite the endless cliches, and he chose his spots for rants and campaigns against the ills of the sport.

But now and in the later years of FNF, Teddy was unhinged and thought he was the star of the show. It must have been VERY tough for the superb Joe Tessitore to do his job alongside a ranting, raving Teddy.

Brillant boxing performance by Billy Joe Saunders. He actually toyed with Lemieux.

There were actually two judges that gave Lemieux some rounds.

i agree....he's gotten more vocal than usual lately, maybe because he's fed up with what's going on in boxing today.

Home cooking. Lemieux won maybe one round.

I want to see more of the kid who embarrassed the Hebrew Hammer. Ulysse is just as slick as Saunders, but when he stopped to plant his feet, he threw with more power than Saunders.

How did you like Lemieux crying about how Saunders ran all night?

Damn I forgot that fight was on. Too many sport events were on last night with the NFL, melo at the garden "I am a Knicks fan", ufc was on too. Will have to watch on demand. Sounds like a good upset

It's called boxing, David. Saunders counterpunched well; it's not like he popped a few smart jabs and ran the rest of the round.

Just look at the two fighters' faces after the bout and tell me who lost.

Wilder-Ortiz appears to be on again, heading for a possible early 2018 showdown. Apparently, Ortiz's blood pressure drug defense will get him a good payday. I am adjusting my prediction of an Ortiz victory to an "I don't know", simply because Wilder seems to really want this fight.

I'm far more excited about the prospect of Saunders vs. Jacobs at middleweight in early 2018 than this bout. Ortiz is a repeated cheat, period. Shouldn't be allowed in the ring.

I have to admit I'd still kind of like to see Wilder-Ortiz.

                          But definitely Saunders-Jacobs.

I'm with you, man. Ortiz should provide Wilder with one of his first legit tests. But philosophically, I have a problem with a two-time drug cheat being allowed in the ring.

Wilder will stop Ortiz inside of 6 rounds and Ortiz will fail another drug test.

Totally agree on second point. Not sure on first point. Wilder is so raw, with such limited dimension other than his huge right hand.
