What grappling positions would you like to see in the game and why?

For me, my #1 in the double leg against the cage, with entries from ground, clinch and standup.

After that it's not as clear.

I think my #2 would be quarter guard, to help balance mount escapes.

After that things get even less clear to me.

Maybe butterfly guard, but it's really not as common as it was a few years ago.

        Smash pass maybe.

I'm interested to read other opinions.
Definitely agree on the first one.

One thing I really want to see changing is the way sweeps and reverses works. sweeps and reverses are still automatically used when you defend a transition. I will give you guys an example why this is frustrating: I like to be on bottom full guard with Diaz because of his great offense from his back. When I defend the transition I automatically get a top position, where Diaz isn’t as good. Another example: When I play with Mcgregor I don’t want to be on the ground with Khabib. When he takes me down and I am in full guard I don’t want my fighter to automatically reverse to a takedown when I defend the transition. I just want to defend the transition and make my own decision if I want to sweep or reverse.

I think there is a way to fix this. If you connect the sweeps and reverses to R2 + L2 or R2 + R1. First of all, this takes more skill, just like real life sweeps and reverses. Secondly, now it’s your own decision to reverse the position and yo
u can keep the position you want. So if you want to stay in bottom guard you can.

I hope GD will read this and think the same about it. Hopefully it can be fixed for full release

Re: What grappling positions are not in EA UFC 2 that you wish were included?

Can we get this added into the game. Yeah EA UFC 3 overhauled standup so we can Strike on the move, but now we still can't move if we are on the ground.

This is a better representation of allowing us to move while on the ground. I hope you consider this for it would change things up slightly on the ground.

          <div style="width:100%;height:0px;position:relative;pad ding-bottom:56.250%;"><iframe src="https://streamable.com/s/292ol/odsgpd" frameborder="0" width="100%" height="100%" allowfullscreen style="width:100%;height:100%;position:absolute;le ft:0px;top:0px;overflow:hidden;"></iframe></div>

Also it would be better if the controls allowed us to be in a standing position to initiate a takedown entry to an opponent who is already on the ground. And it would also be nice to do that from cage clinch positions to enter a cage takedown position as well.

Just a few that come to mind

I'd also like to be able to transition from crucifix to mount as well. Oh and give me a D'arce from half guard top postured up, side control top, and give me an Americana from side control top and mount top as well.
These, all these, just please, yes.

I want me some Calf Slicers too, or whatever Edgy calls that one he made from the lockdown (I think) he almost caught Gracie with (dudes pain tolerance is NUTS) in the rematch. Vaporiser? I dunno, something weed related anyway.

And a body triangle option from back sitting.. it seems natural.

Never understood why the d'arce was in the game, but only when on the bottom in side mount. Not even in sprawl position, yet it's possible to do the anaconda.

Well, Malaach...or U3, pretty much nailed it. We need so many more positions.

I've been wanting to see this specific position for TD & TDD. This should simply replace the insta-MT clinch, esp if you have a wrestler. This should be the typical goto move when a fighter is on the cage and you clinch. We see this almost every MMA event.

Have the proper knee, punches and elbows available for striking attacks and have it transition to various takedowns or the clinch...regular clinch.

Submissive half guard kimura sweep to dominant side Control.

Sorry if me or someone else posted that, I'm forgetful.

Oh god yes. I was so happy when I saw TDs against the cage in the beta, then I was less happy when I saw it was super hard to do, and MT clinch was still default cage position.

I really wanna be able to do the Browne v Barnett elbows from there, too.

I wondered about this myself, I assume laziness, to a casual, a anaconda/brabo choke looks pretty damn similar to a D'arce, its basically just the way you lock your arms I think, you go neck through to armpit on Bravo and vice versa for D'arce, or thereabouts, I'm not entirely sure, we have NO BJJ instructors within 500km of where I live so all my BJJ knowledge is self taught and probably super inaccurate.. my point being I assume they just went "eh, there's an anaconda from sprawl, we don't need a D'arce"

I'd like to see the D'arce from sprawl and from the clinch or as a clinch TD reversal.
I just wanna be able to lock people into the hold standing and drag them down a la Ortega Swanson, or Ferg v Barboza.

It seems to me that they didnt add anything that we asked for in terms to positions (maybe like 2) this game could be so good if they added just a few more things like a new finish the fight. Cage interactions to be more frequent and more back and fourth movement in the clnch.

Wrist control .. . I know it's possible ....because in full mount and some other positions the fighter grabs the bottom fighters hands before getting up .. big cee would love this .

Ability to wrap my legs around bottom players legs sort to establish control ...only elite grapplers should have this tho .
