Ppl talk realism then some employ the clinch in almost all their fights. When you watch actual MMA it's really not heavily used by most fighters. I suck at clinch denials but a jab straight does the truck anyway.

Right now, I rarely care about head strikes unless it is in the MT clinch. The only reason I even block one is to transition. Elbows shouldn't be the only punch command that can create a health event. Especially when you see uppercuts do this more often. You teach people they need to block. I still block to transition. Even though I don't have to.
Edit: Built up damage before a health event. That is what the knee does, unless you are low on stamina and your opponent isn't.Last edited by Bigg Cee; 05-31-2016, 04:47 PM.Comment

I think, leg grab should be actual grapple position in that time. I really hope it in.

I agree, a full kick catch position along with punch catch position (like ufc3 with the clinch parries)/standing arm traps etc they would logically go together imo
This especially true for sub position against a muay thai clinch as a viable defense against knees and elbows & advancesSpoiler

They are both blocked the same way though. Uppercuts definitely need a buff in the clinch. They feel almost useless.@bikingforjesus on InstagramComment

Punches (hooks and uppercuts both) and elbows should have health events in mt and sc both in sub and dom so the clinch is an actual struggle right now the punches do nothing while defending 1000 knees and elbows. See where the balance is skewed?
It should be like where full parries/blocks in the clinch can result in positional reversals like the fence reversals.Comment

Yeah, there should definitely be more defensive options in the clinch. Knee catch with low stamina. Arm trap to over/under would be cool. These are things they need to keep in mind for next game. The clinch has to be viable. It is an actual position that many fights go to. If you give more defensive options, then people have more of a chance and that helps add to balance.
I think the clinch now is fine, but they do need to take the feedback from the masses and implement those changes. Every game is a learning experience. They are definitely miles away from last game. Hopefully next game will be the same way. I still love this game and continue to play it. Will continue to. So, I will just keep adapting.@bikingforjesus on InstagramComment

A catch kick was included deep into the patch cycle as was something as animation intensive as the different finish the fight iterations.
Something like a punch catch/clinch parry (+ health events from clinch punches) is relatively a minor patch that is analogous in application to a kick catch that was a patched in post launch for EAUFC1.
Most of these can be ironed out before the release of the next game which is ~2 years away from now.- Head traps (probes, posts, half thai clinch etc)
- Leg control postions (50/50, grapevine, kick catch etc)
- Standing Arm Trap (clinch parries, )
- TDs against the cage (+elbows, subs etc)
- Mount guards (quarter, deep half etc)
- Grounded mobility (scooting, seated etc)

I am pretty sure that the most of us don't know even old pre patch 1.07 Momentun scenarios.
GPD could you post all of them in the game?
The only one was posted is a momentum in sub Mount for Sweep to Dom FG for fighters who have this GM after getting swept from Dom FGComment

Actually, maybe I should wait until after the LEC final to do that.
Perhaps those who have taken the time to find and learn them should have the opportunity to capitalize on that time investment before they are given out.

Yeah, you could also just go into practice mode and let the AI transition when you have dominant positions and pay attention to the HUD and it will show where to transition to use the momentum in a lot of cases.@bikingforjesus on InstagramComment
