Exactly my dilemma. I really enjoyed UFC 2 and the dev team has done a great job of improving the game and giving me every reason to buy UFC 3, but because of all of the crap that EA has done recently I'd feel like a fool if I pre-ordered or bought the game on day 1, which sucks.

Jim Sterling perfectly sums it up in his recent video:

"Why the f*ck should I be exited about Anthem, or indeed any game that these f*cking snake oil sales-bastards are trying to pass off as fun videogames, and not vectors for the disease that is microtransactions?"

I've watched quite a few videos about EA and their practices and it's some pretty crazy stuff.

The one video I saw talked about how their overall cost of production has gone down dramatically, but over the past 5 years, with the implementation of Ultimate Team, and Loot boxes, their actual profit has gone UP by over 800%

Putting less money in, and getting more money out. Wild stuff.

Here's a small article talking about how much money EA is making off these kinds of "Digitally Distributed Extra Content". When you see the insane profits they make off these modes, it's easy to see why they might put so much effort into funneling people through them, and maybe worry less about other things...

this is number one bull****. EA UFC series shows lack of investment. Budget staff with minimal improvements each year. the effort put into EA UFC is a fraction of the effort put into Madden.

EA thinks MMA customers are morons.

          Well, they might be right.

It's one of the lowest scored games on metacritic:

EA sees this and instead of improving the user experience, they make it worse and nickel and dime small children (illegal)

For example look at the dismal marketing aspect of this game compared to other titles , not only that but the lack of transparency to show case the game in whole!
We saw how the UT mode in the beta and it was horrible and it only update was fighter skin and limited cards$$$
I kid you not I haven’t touched battlefront 2 since it’s first week of launch and planing to trade it in soon , left a really bad stench for EA.
I think if EA ufc 3 doesn’t do well this year we might not be seeing another game for a while!!
I think EA completely consider in Micro transactions when averaging the games profit which is a shame,
Micro transactions should be a supplemental aspect of the games profit not a base profit however EA manage to focus its games around them!
