Picking fighters in a double confirmation is fair and an unearned advantage. AKA, get better at picking (not that it matters so much).

The part about splitting the filters by overall. Because overalls are not the end of end alls. :\

Edit: I have no clue how you spit up quotes. Can you just quote the whole thing.

I've got no problem with who I face, despite being crap at the game. But the one thing that needs to not happen is mirror matches. It is the worst thing about the game hands down. Can't describe how much I hate it.

Explain to me exactly how double confirmation works in your opinion and I'll show you why it's unfair.

The entire roster will actually come into play.
Same thing in my suggestion, no?

If see who the guy picks, you can change yor pick to avoid mirror matches.

Unless you both don't want to mirror match but you both don't want to switch.

If you're not willing to switch, then you're willing to mirror match.

                    That's a false dichotomy.

Come on, if you are at flyweight and the guy picks DJ, and you are in the highest divison you are kinda forced to pick dj aswell, unless you dont care about your record or leaderboards.

This is exactly what I'm afraid of, even when stat differences matter less. With blind picking, people will most likely go for the safe option, and I think this is much worse than the counter picking that might happen if both fighters can see each other's picks. I never experienced much counter picking in Undisputed 3, so I think that problem is being exaggerated.

At the very least, they should take out mirror matches. I don't wanna fight the same person I'm using like it's Double Impact.

Proper matchmaking solves this problem entirely.

What's "proper matchmaking" then? If we're going by OVRs then a Scoggins will never face a DJ, which is not always what you want if you want to show off. Worse still, I can see that being abused by finding just the right character so that you're always out of shot of the most OP characters yet can still dominate.

Make players pick a fighter before they search for an opponent and add optional filters to searches.

Quoting myself again from previous post.

"What the filter should do is the following:

You're using an overall 88 fighter and start searching for a match.

Algorithm initially searches for opponents ranging from 87-89.
Can't find any after x amount of seconds. Do you want to widen the search range? Y/N/Cancel search? Yes.
                                Searches from 86 to 90
Can't find any after x amount of seconds. Do you want to widen the search range? Y/N/C? Yes.
                                Ranges from 85 to 91

It allows players to enjoy the game and be competitive with all fighters, rather than being forced into a match that's borderline unwinnable.

Without the filter you're all in one big pool matched with the first person available in your division with a decent connection.

The only people who'd have an incentive to use the filter would be people who're using an overall lower fighter. If you want to use a lower level fighter and fight someone using Jon Jones, turn the filter off. I'm sure you'll run into them more than not.
                                "

I also think you should be able to configure that range before you even start searching and that there should be an option to avoid mirror matches.

If you want to use a low level fighter and fight high level opponents for a challenge, turn the filter off. If you want to use a lower level fighter, but don't want to face impossible odds, use the filter.
