Before, when i fight top 100, i have a lot of different punch coming at me for 2 or 3 round.

Now its just a 1-2 break Block contest for 30 sec.

Since your head regenerate way slower, you have to kill or be killed.
    UT or ranked?

I guess you haven’t been on the receiving end of a Conor spam. Non stop jab crosses from all angles. You just can’t avoid them. Side steps will get you killed since that alone will deplete your stamina. I’ve been doing nothing but trying to gain space to no avail. The block is broken. You can’t really sway and you can’t block. Use Conor or lose. I refuse. This needs tweaking. I’ve been getting 1,2ed to death. Attempting a takedown is hopeless and pointless. The game isn’t good right now unless you use the very top guys it’s ridiculous speed. If that’s the case then there’s no reason for a full roster.

I’m fully adapted to this new patch and man... this game is great again... just seems that overhand don have a perfect sway to counter it with is bad because overhand + recovery glitch + heavyweight = death

First off, thanks for putting this together-- there is great info here. Second, these are my initial thoughts from a couple days of seeing how the game has changed. These thoughts could change as people start to learn, myself included.

What about the 10% time it's not a jab? What about when they switch it up bc you show you can slip a jab? Everyone is just charging forward and spamming jab until you show you can slip it a couple times, then they just mix in other things, but never stop swinging. When a combo's first strike is a jab 50% of the time and 50% hook/upper, good luck preemptively slipping. You'll be leaning into hooks half the time.

THIS IS STILL SWAY AND PRAY.

This is the problem. You have to preemptively slip (guess). The entire game is based on head movement now, but this time defensively. Before it was a popular abused strategy, but now head movement feels like the backbone of the entire match. The issue is that it takes WAY more skill (or guess slipping) to defend against button mashers than it does to button mash. For this reason I don't think we'll see things level out with the KO's the way GPD thinks.

Slips to the side still dodge uppercuts. That's the point of mixing it up though. For those hooks you can still do a duck and uppercut. Although there is a glitch right now where the uppercut may not do any damage. You can also use back lean counters at a good distance if they are spamming straight punches. You can major back sway hooks at close range too. Ultimately, if you minor sway and get hit by a hook, but immediately block after, you won't take too much damage.

I wrote all of this before I realized there was the head health glitch, but once they fix that all of this will still apply. Currently it's the wild west.

If head recovery is really glitched, i understand why i fall a lot in ranking by losing in 30sec by noob.

After 25 ko 1e round ko, i switch and do boring grappling. This way i dont lose by total noob spam.

But..may be better to stop since i dont enjoy the game anymore and wait for head glitch patch.

I already see some top guys using head mouvment, I cant.. if I try to do the same I go down immediatly.
I think im too old, no more reflexe..

You were my only match in the past 26 (and counting) in UT to go to the second round and you got the sub on me. Good grappling with GSP too. I was Cerrone.

Patch sucks for UT for sure but hey everyone just kept balancing for one mode while the other one dies. I'll save money and time not playing so it's win win. Am I right?!

If they are throwing hooks, you can now use the major backwards lean at close range and land a counter lead hook. You will often eat their next punch, but your hook will do far more damage and lessen the impact of what you are hit with. If you don't like the trade off, you can block the first punch and then do the back lean, but it could leave you open for a straight punch if they start mixing it up.

Will this work even if they're as close as possible as they can be to you? Or do you have to have a little space for the major back sway to work?

Doesn't matter how close they are. Also, I've been putting a rear hook behind the lead hook to make sure their strike doesn't connect. It has a pretty high success rate.

Excellent to know this. I've been doing good at pull countering people but I still get hit sometimes. I wasn't sure if it was because they were too close. I think my timing on it was just off and sometimes in the heat of the moment I accidentally do the minor sway back instead of the major one.

I remember a cerrone "leglockfan" yesterday. What was your GT ?

I have a lot of negative message since using gsp, boring blabla..
But i cant take more overhand uppercut or Bruce lee 1-1-2 so back to basics.

I fear trowing a combo with a kick, thats a big problem in UT, jab/straight/overhand beat everyting you work for.

I May have the fastest lose in 15 sec since patch.
