I dont wanna jump the gun but we might finally have a UFC game that can challenge or dethrone UD3, damn near 10 years later lol

People said that 2 years ago with 3, lol. I don't see it happening. The clinch improvements give me hope tho.

can GPD tell us who is in charge of the CAF debacle? So we know who to blame? That would be great thx.......Honestly i cant comprehend how something like this even gets made, could of made 1 poll and seen how it would of turned out and that its not a popular thing in any community on any forum.

Really interested to see the clinch in action. Sounds exactly what I hoped for

I love what I’m hearing about takedowns, scrambles.

I’m very curious to learn more about the sub system and how we can strike during attempts.

It sounds like we finally have a complete package here.

Well. .....you DO have a point 🤔.....I do have a lot more optimism this time around though. They finally scrapped that awful UT mode so I'm hoping the bulk of their efforts went into gameplay this time round

To be fair UFC 3 is on the cusp of dethroning undisputed 3 in a lot of people's opinion

I’d like to think I’m a pretty objective guy.
I tend to not get over-hyped or set massive expectations for games.

But from what I am reading, UFC 4 has a real
Shot to be the best mma game made.

It definitely has the best striking already. The clinch and takedowns sound like they should be better than any prior system we’ve had. UD3 did the clinch very well.

If the ground and pound is fast and impactful, along with ground sways and improved sub system. It might have the title.

Ehhh.......I mean I think it COULD be done.......but the grappling is so well done in UD3, gonna take a good effort to pass it. EA UFC 3 had pretty good standup although some would say they didnt like it. I loved it but it needed a slight bit of fine tuning. They did the best as far as trying to replicate actual footwork instead of everybody fighting flat footed. I think the head movement aspect needed some work......damage system was pretty wonky, but animation wise it looked smooth and with a little work the stand up could have been phenomenal and it sounds like they did improve it for UFC 4. I guess seeing is believing so we shall see

The only new position? That's the most disappointing news I've heard. Kills some of the high hopes I had for changes to the ground game.

Unfortunately I think they spent two and a half years on clinch/takedown locomotion and keeping the actual grappling system the same - or at least with not many new animations. The vanity items and Kumite/backyard stuff probably took up a lot of time. Looking forward to the improved locomotion anyhow.

How can backyard/kumite take up a long of time? its literally just cosmetic arena... we already had striking only modes.... its just a simple rule change to what you can use to fight with....what they need another year for "punches only mode?" i mean come on... thats ONTOP of not having to work on UT......

I know teenagers that can do something like this in 6 months if they got paid in their mothers basement....

Can someone explain how “scrambles” in an MMA game would work? When they say it’s in the game, I’m trying to imagine what that means exactly for gameplay
