I have done the same thing with the flick dodges, either up or down will make them side step and I threw a kick and nailed him in the shoulder, head are when he was shooting. The cool part is each shot seems to not be canned in any kind of way so you can connect with some of the most realistic shots I have seen. Alot more real than fight night rd 3Comment

Re: UFC 2009 Undisputed Demo Impressions
I have to say - I'm getting sick of Rua on Expert.
He can submit me in the 2nd round at will because my stamina goes down, yet 10 unblocked power kicks and punches to the face does nothing to him
It's a little annoying.Comment

Re: UFC 2009 Undisputed Demo Impressions
One thing I gotta say though timmay, I hope they fix the subs versus the computer. But against a human the subs right now are pretty perfect. Against my buddies it can be a hell of a battle on the ground. Certain fighters will be better at spinning the stick to get out (Rua), others will be better at beating their way out (Chuck)Comment

Re: UFC 2009 Undisputed Demo Impressions
Yeah, I've only been able to submit Chuck a handful of times in my Expert fights, but I can still do it probably 50% of the time on Advanced (with the rest being a freak loss by Flash KO or a victory by me, normally via KO in mount). I've only submitted Rua once the whole time I've been playing the demo (partly because I never try it), and that was on Beginner via rear naked choke.
I power through Rua on Expert and end up with a KO most of the time, though he'll catch me with surprise submissions occasionally... it's more of a toss-up against Chuck on Expert, but I've been able to KO him from the top a lot recently. Very very tough to submit Chuck on Expert.. seems like you have to absolutely drain him while keeping your stamina very high to have a chance. I got him in the 1st round one time, but normally it comes much later on Expert.
However, I got my friend with submissions 3 times this weekend in early round situations because he was overly aggressive with kicks -- caught his leg, took him down, and I was in mount before you know it, signature triangle-choking my way to victory. I got him that way once, once with the armbar from mount, and once with the triangle choke from rubber guard. Since I've played the game a **** ton since I played him last (he was 4-0 last time getting a KO with Chuck every time), I was able to totally control him when I took the fight to the ground. I went 9-2 against him this time and the two losses were Flash KOs because I was standing with him to give him a fighting chance -- every time I went to the ground it was over within a few minutes unless he was saved by the bell.
It's very satisfying to know that you're better at the game than someone else and beat them convincingly -- unlike NBA 2K9 where you can easily lose to some idiot kid dunking 35 times with LeBron despite you knowing every nuance of the game. Newbies can still catch you with a big shot and win, but I was very methodical and confident -- I'd weather the shots he'd land and then just take him down and go to work.Last edited by Stumbleweed; 05-04-2009, 02:18 PM.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Even if he is stupid enough to take me down and I am in guard, I will throw rubber guard and submit him with a triangle.
But one of the things this game really reminds me of is APF. It is easy enough to pick up and play and have a chance to win. But has the depth that you will be learning the game for a LOOOONG time. Truly I feel one of the best sport titles in a very long time.Comment

I've also done the same thing and Shogun would fly backward and defy physics and it looked stupid, hope I don't see that animation often.Comment

Just had a KO in the first 3 seconds of the 2nd round. As soon as the bell rang, I ran across and hit Chuck with a flying knee for the KO. Pretty sickComment
