I'm with you I can't get it either, but If I play against him Rua will submit me like crazy. Its frustrating. I know alot of people say they have the ground game and sub game down but I wish they would go in to detail for those of us that are having problems. Ex, I get in full mount but he pulls me to his chest. People say to do a major transition and he will posture up. However when I do that he just goes back to side control. I don't get it!

Move the the stick from 2 o'clock to 9 o'clock counter clockwise and that always gets me to posture up unless he reverses. Try holding LB too, I may have been doing that and forgetting.

if your Chuck i don't fear the bottom at all, on Expert most of the time i stuff the takedown, and if i don't i just let him extend the energy to get to mount, the second he does bam i active Chucks sigature reversal, Shogun stuffs it maybe 2/3 but when i get it, i can just left click and i just stand up that's enough, 15-3 15KOs on expert all 3 defeats by way of kimura. Chuck is a beast.

The ground game is not my cup of tea its done about as well as it can, but its to much work with Chuck, and Shogun's rubber guard is just to good to **** around with. My advice is to stick to your fighters strength stay away from there weaknesses at all costs.

The only hoop we have left to jump is if guys like Kenny Florian or BJ Penn are as dominating as reality, on the ground and if a war between these two styles is as fun as it should be.

I'm almost positive you're doing a minor transition. A major transition postures up, a minor transition slides back into half-guard. You just need some more practice differentiating between the two motions in the midst of a fight. It can be tricky.

Alright, Chuck's bar is half way down, and it is half yellow and half red. I attempted a submission, and he just got right out of it.

This is weird. Really, what color should that bar be before I attempt another submission?

Just submitted Chuck two matches in a row in the 2nd round via triangle choke and armbar. Great times. I feel so much better winning with submissions. Also, the 2nd submission came after I rocked him and the screen went black and white.

Yup. At first I was just amazed by this game! Now I worked on mastering the ground game and I think I'm about 60% on it, making decent transitions, etc...

However, even with the stamina meter on and trying to submit Lidell on yellow, it is next to impossible! It's fun to stand up and bang, but if submissions are this hard, this game is just FN4 with kicks.

Not only that, playing on advanced seems to be the best difficulty, but anything under it is too easy. I just wish there was a way to get submissions quicker...

The only times I've managed to submit Chuck (twice) are when I stun him in full mount. I hit him with the ground and pound and once the screen goes black and white, I move in for the arm bar. I tried doing that same thing on Shogun as Chuck but it hasn't work. This is on Expert, btw.

Question, for those who have been successful with submissions on the higher difficulties, do you rotate the RS? If so, do you use your thumb or your palm? Both times I submitted Chuck, I turn my controller sideways and rotate the RS with my palm. But I doubt that could be good for your controller. Just out of curiosity.

And I figured out what my problem was with the dashes/quick steps. It's my old controller. The LS has been worn down so much that it doesn't always register the quick flicks.

Ya, I'm unable to use the quick steps because my analog sticks when I try to flick it, I might have to buy a new DS3 when i pick this game up.

Liddell has not been involved in a fight that ended in a submission in 10 years. He is very good at avoiding submissions, and he is very bad at applying submissions.

That's not to say submissions against the CPU won't be too hard in the actual game. I'm just saying it's foolish to base that solely on the results of matches featuring Chuck Liddell.

I'm not sure where I stand on the submission issue just yet. I hope they're not damn near impossible to pull off, but at the same time they need to be difficult to finish a match with just because they're extremely easy to initiate.
