Re: MMA Off-Topic
Anyone else hear Khabib turned down a 15 mil offer to rematch Conor? Said Conor can wait in line. Says he wants to beat Ferguson and retire.

He also says he wants to fight Floyd, which would be a lot worse than Conor fighting him.

Re: MMA Off-Topic
quick question; how many fights does Khabib have left on his contract? I hear stuff about the champion's clause in UFC that basically keeps rolling over your contract as long as you hold a title?
but he can't just vacate, leave, and go fight for Bellator?Comment

Re: MMA Off-Topic
I'm not even taking that seriously. And if that does ever happen, Khabib will get schooled worse than Conor did.Comment

Re: MMA Off-Topic
Yup. It's either you fight or vacate I think.Comment

Dang that's harsh. So you can't vacate the title and leave or buyout your contract? And what if you choose to retire? Frozen contract?Comment

Re: MMA Off-Topic
Probably depends on Dana's mood. It seems peculiar the ufc can terminate contracts and cut fighters at any time, and the fighters have like no rights when it comes to that.Comment

Re: MMA Off-Topic
UFC is probably similar.
You can't just let the champ leave, but they should be getting paid a fair price.

I so hope this is true.
But I’m betting Dana made an offer that he’ll allow his buddies back in the UFC as long as he rematches with Conor - which makes no sense.
It wasn’t a close fight and the stoppage wasn’t controversial. An argument could be made that Conor’s cornerman have Khabib a tougher fight.
But hey, Conor runs the UFC so give the baby his bottle.

Conor McGregor via his official Instragram account:
“Thoughts on my last fight.
Round 1. I believe from a sport standpoint, round 1 was his. Top position against the fence. Zero position advancement or damage inflicted. But top position.
From a fight standpoint the first round is mine.
Actual shots landed and a willingness to engage. Straight left early. Knee to the head on the low shot. Elbows in any and all tie up scenarios. Opponent just holding the legs against the fence for almost the entire round.
Round 2 he is running away around the cage before being blessed with a right hand that changed the course of the round, and the fight.
It was a nice shot.
After the shot I bounced back up to engage instantly, but again he dipped under to disengage. That is the sport and it was a smart move that led to a dominant round, so no issue. Well played.
If I stay switched on and give his stand up even a little more respect, that right hand never gets close and we are talking completely different now.
I gave his upright fighting no respect in preparation. No specific stand up spars whatsoever.
Attacking grapplers/wrestlers only.
That won’t happen again.
I also gave my attacking grappling no respect. To defense minded.
Lessons.
Listen to nobody but yourself on your skill set.
You are the master of your own universe.
I am the master of this.
I must take my own advice.
Round 3. After the worst round of my fighting career, I come back and win this round. Again walking forward, walking him down, and willing to engage.
Round 4. My recovery was not where it could have been here.
That is my fault.
Although winning the early exchanges in 4, he dips under again and I end up in a bad position with over 3 on the clock. I work to regain position and end up upright, with my back to the fence.
A stable position.
Here however, I made a critical error of abandoning my over hook at this crucial time, exposing the back, and I end up beaten fair and square.
What can I say?
It was a great fight and it was my pleasure.
I will be back with my confidence high.
Fully prepared.
If it is not the rematch right away, no problem.
I will face the next in line.
It’s all me always, anyway.
See you soon my fighting fans I love you all ❤”Comment

Re: MMA Off-Topic
Smh, oh Conor...coulda, shoulda, woulda. You can tell this loss hurt him. Khabib just happens to hold Conor's kryptonite. It's lvl's to this thing and no matter how much he trains grappling, as long as Khabib is also active, training and getting better, he won't ever be on Khabib's lvl of grappling. Conor has to stay on his feet to beat Khabib. As far as his fight assessment, agree about round 1 except when he said no position advancement. Khabib definitely eventually advanced and got to half guard at the later part of the round. In round 2 he as clearly dominated. Had zero respect for Khabibs striking and got cracked for it. He's lucky the mma god's only blessed khabib with a knockdown and not a flash ko. Round 3 he won, but clearly tired and his shots have no real power to them anymore. Khabib could eat those lefts all day at that point. By round 4 speaks for itself. I admit I thought Conor would have won this match, but I was thinking he'd be able to keep himself in the center of the cage and stop the td's. He stopped the 1st initial attempt in round one, but the chain wrestling of Khabib still overwhelmed him. All in all, if they fight again it will be the same thing if Conor can't stay on his feet. The high lvl grappling is his weakness.Last edited by WarMMA; 10-23-2018, 12:18 PM.Comment
