    Re: OS MMA Random Thread

From the rumors, she was being "bullied" for wearing TUF stuff in the gym. Someone scared her from behind and she feel.

Now supposedly there are more details and they show it was a lot worse than that, but nothing has been leaked yet.

According to sources close to BJPENN.COM, we have learned that upon hearing of his wives possible infidelities with her Jiu Jitsu coach, Pablo Popovich, the top UFC light-heavyweight barged into their school gun-drawn, looking for Pablo.
If there is any truth to this, Pablo is lucky to be alive tonight lol. If you're gonna screw someone's woman, you'd probably be wise to make sure she didn't belong to Thiago Silva. ***** claims another victim tonight. Damn shame.

Anderson Silva is back training. He was spotted over the weekend at his Muay Thai College in Torrence,California lifting weights and walking down steps without crutches.

Ok now I know why the Jessica Eye fight was changed to a no contest. She tested positive for Marijuana after the fight. She got a one year probated suspension. Which you know I think is BS and unfair considering Nick Diaz was given a regular 1 year suspension.

Different athletic commissions. I guess they're a bit more forgiving in Texas. Nick's suspension seemed a bit harsh to me too.

UFC just added Performance of the Night bonus.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced today a modification to its live event bonuses. Effective immediately, UFC will award “Fight of the Night Bonuses” to each of the fighters in the best fight of the night, as well as additional “Performance of the Night Bonuses” to the two best individual performances on the card. The bonus amounts will remain $50,000. The “Performance of Night” bonuses will reward the athletes who put on the best and most exciting individual performances.
Good, maybe this will stop people from cruising to a victory, playing it too safe.

There was nothing wrong with the bonus system before. It was definitive, you knew what you needed to do. Hopefully deserving guys don't get jerked out of money now, but I guess we'll see how this plays out.

The only thing I like about this is it opens up bonuses for guys that dominate their opponents, but don't get a finish.

Kind of impossible to get jerked. Under the old system, you could have 2 great KOs and only one would get a bonus. Take UFC 169: No one got a Sub so no one received a sub of the night. Under the new rules, Barao who had a KO (or someone else) wouldve received a bonus along with Truilljo.

That makes sense. I guess I just come from the if it isn't broke don't fix it school of thought, so any change can make me a bit hesitant. As long as great finishes are still being rewarded in this system it will probably be fine.

So you have fight of the night and performance of the night, how would the 2 fighters with the fight of the night not also get performance of the night? Sure there could be a beating by 1 fighter, but usually that would be stopped.

UFC just needs to add finish bonuses to all contracts. Then you can still hand out a bonus for best fight, etc.

I believe it is for the benefit for the lesser known fighters. Lets say you had 2 fights that were both really good and both really deserving of fight of the night. Normally the bigger names would get fight of the night and the other one would get shafted.

So if you are in the prelims, you too now have a shot at getting a bonus.

Performance of the night is really just finishes of the night. It will go to the two best finishes of the night no matter what the finish is.

Overeem is ducking Dos Santos. He was offered a 5 round main event fight in Brazil against Dos Santos, he turned it down. Then Dana White offered him a 3 round fight in Las Vegas against Dos Santos, Overeem turned that down too. LOL, damn.
