Aldo definitely needs to watch it, he might be one of the greatest but hes not above the rules of UFC just ask Jon "coke bones" Jones

Sounds like Brett Johns who is fighting on the Titan FC show on Fight Pass has been stripped of the Bantamweight title for missing weight and his opponent will get the title if he wins tommorow

UFC fired Stitch for voicing his opinion on the Reebok deal. Ridiculous.

Bad PR for UFC in my opinion. This is definitely going to get worse before it gets better.

Terrible move. Its not like he was refusing to wear Reebok, he even said hey, we have a blank vest that now can have Reebok all over it. Reebok said we either don't care since we already the uniforms or don't have any money (even though the price they are paying for the low fighters, they would probably pay <$100 per event).

This just adds more to the terrible deal. They really need to address these, but the UFC and Dana keep saying everything is great.

I would love to see the sales from the mma week, if I had to guess, they were terrible.

I'm firmly against the Reebok deal when it comes to the fighters but I dont know if I disagree with the UFC here. One, he's a cutman and I'd argue that he shouldnt have sponsors on his clothing in the first place. I've seen tons of cut men in boxing and they rarely have sponsors. They are there to do a job not profit from side deals related to the sport.

Two, he's been VERY vocal about the deal. I saw 3 separate articles on Bloody Elbow about the Reebok deal yesterday and the last one was Stitch threatening to go to boxing because of the Reebok deal. You cant be that vocal and expect no ramifications. ****, if my job cut my pay and I went public complaining about it...im likely to get let go the next day. Sports is the only place where people can complain in the press about an employer and expect things to remain cool.

I hear you. Sucks to see mainstays get the boot like that, though. At least he can still get that Klitchscko money.

I don't think he complained much, but that whole picture of the vest, probably over did it. He basically said I love MMA, has loyally only done UFC per their unwritten request, and now he has to go get some part time work to keep the same income.

The UFC can claim this whole deal is to make the sport main stream, but it all comes down to the money and who controls it. If it was really about the image, they would just take their normal sponsors fee cut and give the rest to the fighters.

The UFC did this as a way to control all the sponsor money instead of just having the small fee each sponsor had to pay. It only is a side benefit that it cleans up some of the sponsors, which they could have just banned those sponsors.

He shouldve kept his mouth closed. I like Stitch alot. I met him last year and he was nothing but cool. I just think its crazy that people think the UFC is wrong for firing an employee who went to the press and generated two articles about how one of their biggest policies was wrong. Like I said, in any other profession, Stitch wouldve been fired.

Also its not as simple as you put it. The UFC has a responsibility to its exclusive sponsors. Companies like Reebok, Bud, Monster Energy, Monster Headphones, Harley Davidson and Dodge pay a ton of money to be the only UFC sponsors in the area.

Here are the major sponsors in MMA in the US: Affliction, Bad Boy, Torque, Jaco, Hayabusa and Dynamic Fastner. The only one that can remain under the current policy is DF because the rest are clothing companies. Reebok would complain (and have a legitimate right to complain) if Weidman wore a Bad Boy patch on his Reebok Fight Kit because some people would believe its a Bad Boy shirt instead of a Reebok shirt.

Even some of the small sponsors are problematic. Ive seen fighters come into the cage with local sponsors like "Johnson BMW" on it. Again Dodge would have a legitimate issue with BMW getting a plug during a UFC broadcast for SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than what they are paying for "exclusivity".

My biggest issue is with eliminating the sponsors where there isnt a conflict like Microsoft or DF. There is no reason why Mighty Mouse shouldnt be able to slap a Xbox logo on his fight kit because its not a conflict.

If Alienware is still a sponsor I could see why Xbox wouldn't be allowed as a sponsor.

Was Alienware a UFC sponsor or a fighter sponsor? I cant remember.

Their logo has been in and on the octagon before. It's also on the cage on UFC.

Stitch isn't employed by the UFC though, the commission does the hiring/license and assignments (unless that changed). He wasn't technically fired by the UFC, but more like they asked and Nevada said sure to remove him UFC events.

I dont think thats true for cutmen. For judges and refs it is but cutman are hired by the promotion in MMA and the boxers in boxing.

Maybe he is a contractor then. He mentioned them telling him not to do other MMA organizations or boxing but it being an unwritten rule.

According to Jeremy Botter, Robbie Lawler's next opponent is........Carlos Condit.

Johny Hendricks will fight Tyron Woodley next. I assume that will be for the #1 contender position.
