It's very weird, her manager, herself, and Tito all say the fight was offered and accepted. Either she is taking a very weird approach about lying about fights being offered now or Dana is lying. I don't know who to trust, they both are pretty low on the truth meter.

Re: OS MMA Random Thread
The UFC would be absolutely nuts to have Cyborg first fight in the UFC be the first fight she reaches 135.

Re: OS MMA Random Thread
I disagree. If Cyborg were to have a different first fight and lose, you just lost that Cyborg/Rousey mystique. Casual fans won't care that it's her first fight at that weight. They'll just care that this is supposed to be Rousey's biggest test.

You make her make 135 first so she doesn't just show up to the Ronda fight at 140. Would Ronda refuse to fight then?
I doubt she makes 135 and if she does, she is probably going to lose a lot of power and that will remove her advantage. It's not like her and Ronda are different sizes, they are the same, she just has more muscle mass.

Rousey/Cyborg is the co main or main event of perhaps the biggest fight card in UFC history at Cowboys Stadium.
Cyborg claims she can make 135 when she signs the contract but she fails at the weigh-in and comes in at 140. You now have 2 tough choices:
1) You cancel the fight the day before the card and keep the biggest star in your company off the card.
or
2) You beg Ronda to take a catchweight fight with Cyborg with 1 days notice even though Ronda has been adamant for years that she only wanted to fight her at 135. You also run the risk of pissing Ronda off for putting her in this position.
That scenario could very likely happen and thats why you make Cyborg make the weight. I dont care if they put the biggest tomato can in the world against her in that fight. Just prove you can make the weight.Comment

Re: OS MMA Random Thread
Then Cyborg loses that fight.
Its the difference between earning potential money vs. losing actual money. If Cyborg loses to some bottom of the ladder 135er in Invicta, you lose potential money you wouldve made on a huge Cyborg/Rousey fight.
If Cyborg misses weight because she has never cut to 135 before and you have to cancel the fight, you lose ACTUAL money from potential refunds and promotional costs related to the fight.
I'll take the risk of losing potential money over actual money any time.Comment

He said he may go back to WWE after fighting in the UFC. Right now, I doubt he ever fights. Unless the UFC brings in someone from the regional circuit who is also just starting out, I don't think he stands a chance. At this point, how many people even care? He has been gone so long he isn't bring the WWE fans to the UFC and may lose the WWE fans when he goes back if he gets embarrassed.Comment

Also, you underestimate how many people would be interested in seeing him fight. He isnt going to headline a PPV but as a main card or co-main, he would bring in a good amount of fans.Comment

Re: OS MMA Random Thread
Thats not how wrestling works. Even if he gets embarrassed, the WWE and their fans will welcome him back with open arms. He was one of the best wrestlers in the world and he is amazing on the mic. No one will care if he gets his *** kicked.

The money. They will likely give him a Brock Lesnar schedule where he only does the TV shows and a few PPVs a year. Everybody comes back to wrestling eventually. The Rock. Batista. Brock. Everyone.Comment

Re: OS MMA Random Thread
Man, I wish that they would go ahead and announce that UFC 194 will be in Dallas. My dream card is something like Conor/Aldo, Ronda/Meisha 3 and Nurmagomedov/Diaz.
I can get one way flights from New Orleans to Dallas (and vice versa) for like $40 and the flight is only a little over an hour. Let's go, UFC!Comment
