Re: Official UFC Undisputed 2009 Impressions
no I meant to win using him - against him you avoid the clinch, but my point was the cpu can MT clinch you way easier than a human can, so it's easier to avoid - hence me thinking A.Silva isn't the best middleweight choice for online. His strength and stamina aren't so hot either.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

That's the way using Anderson Silva should be. That just means it'll take more skill to use him appropriately. Counter strikes and capitalizing when the situation presents itself.Comment

Re: Official UFC Undisputed 2009 Impressions
The nice thing is the tutorial in the game is fantastic. The game prompts you to try the tutorial the very first time you turn the game on. I was trying to rush through it just for the achievement, and it still took me about 20 minutes to do.
Plus, there's a great practice mode. You can have your sparring partner do nothing, block just strikes, block just takedowns, only grapple, only strike, go all out, etc. It's a very nice way to learn. You can practice with guys with different styles, bring up the action list from the pause menu, and see what they all can do.
So the game does a good job of teaching you about the basics of the sport if you want to learn.
If you're concerned about learning the fighters, looking at their ratings in the game will give you a good idea what they're like. Strong strike offense but low strike defense? Throw punches, but don't get into brawls. High takedown offense and high ground striking offense? Get the takedown and try and keep the guy down and pound him out.
If you're more concerned about the styles, like if you're a wrestler with poor submission defense fighting a jiu-jitsu fighter with good submission offense, how do you control the fight? That's kind of like a mystery to unravel, and its one of the best things about the sport.
As long as you don't expect to be the best in the world and you have even a moderate willingness to learn, there's a lot of fun to be had with the game, even if you're starting from scratch.
Thanks...I like the idea of a practice mode. I have been looking for a good fighting game that is based off real fighting and not fantasy. I enjoyed the demo and will practice hard before attempting online.Work Hard...Pay Bills...Work Hard...Pay BillsComment

then I connected w/ the dude who gave me the early demo code. That match was like slow-motion and very laggy , but at least it never 'jumped' or skipped, it was on the smooth side, just very very slow.
so I guess you'll get a little bit of everything.
btw, i was cro cop vs a created who I ko'd w/ a left hok, then kampmann vs gsp and i was killing him and he flash ko'd me in the 3rd. he was heavy on the superman's but not enough to say 'cheese'.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment
