    Thanks in advance.
    Yes!
you get newsletters explaining the fight matchups and later the outcomes and how ie. ko, submisison
there are also rankings - you are ranked and so is everyone else including scrubs.

for example gsp lost the belt in my career against alves only to get it back the next year. Rashad has maintained champ status so far during my career (shut up pappy
and their records reflect all of their outcomes. For example - McFedries knocked me out when I was green and only had a couple of fights - actually he knocked me the eff out!, so I couldn't wait for a rematch where I didn't touch gloves and knocked him the eff out breakin' my foot off in that ash! His win and his loss are added to his record as well as any other fights he had against cpu.
There are however no highlights or anything like that other than matchup pics of the fighters w/ their records and outcomes of the match. (which is cool imo).

So in short, carreer is like you hoped for and it's pretty damn fun - you can pay as much or as little attention to the outside UFC would (divisions, champs etc.) as you choose. It's all tied to emails and event pre/post-fight page.

Another cool thing is how you get occasional staredown cutscenes i think if you're fight is one of the more important ones on UFN
Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Didnt get overlooked. There were serious collision detection problems with it and they decided against adding them this year. They will probably be in the next version.

Yeah it's a bit lame that in the career you don't really 'age', but you'll finish a career in a matter of days, weeks etc...so it's nice to have whomever you create to be somewhat current. Plus a lot of UFC guys would be uber-old for fighters if that happened too. You'd have captured all these guys only to have half of them too old to fight and retired. lol
Thats just stoopid!!! Lol well atleast they said they are making career mode deeper for next year....

Im hoping for retired figthers, aging fighters with their ratings declining, Good lookin generic fighters who progress/regress....

It shouldnt be called career mode without those things...

            yeah,
and i forgot to mention that it's all organized into events - so it's not like you get a random newsletter that 2 guys fought, you get the results of UFC 122 - I just had my first PPV card fight against nate marquart, and on my card was franklin vs silva, kongo vs brock, and so on, so all those results will be there. and since you don't fight in every event there are results from the ones you miss too.
I'm now 15-4 losing 2 by ko and 2 by submission.

Another cool thing is my dude's rockin a bit of chest hair... I think I'm the only one who ever cared, but I'm glad it's an option. It makes your caf look more real and less fake/generic looking - also the 70% 5 o'clock shadow helps.

edit; another cool thing is Ko of the night and such - you can win it and get a bonus cred, but it's not like you get it often. I've won it once, this past ppv is was given to anderson for ko'ing franklin even though my ko was pretty bad arse.

for other who have the game: i don't want to mess up my carreer by starting a new one, but I'm pretty sure it's been confirmed you can't have 2 going at once. Having said that, when I choose the career option it has a picture of my fighter saying 'what fighter do you choose' - as if there could be more than one. Has anyone else tried to have multiple carreer saves and characters at once? I won't risk losing mine since I've put about 10 hours into it.

Thanks for the info people, just read all 12 pages and have a learned a lot.

I just hope this game isn't all sold out the first day real quick. i always get dissapointed with that.

Can someone tell me how sending you're fighter to real life camps works please. like do you need points/cred for certain ones?

                thanks in advance

not really. The cred system is probably the weakest part of career mode. The camps have people you train with, but i'm pretty sure it's all the same since you go to unlock 'judo 2' or kickboxing 3 etc...so you end up w/ the same moves. I'm just doing past level 3 now which might give me some special move I'm not sure - so maybe that matters.

Training at certain camps more often unlocks their logo's to use on your shorts for cred.

cred also unlocks random sponsors and shorts - but the shorts take a very long time to unlock (i don't have any unique ones yet) or maybe i'm missing something on how to unlock them. From what I understand though, if you unlock shorts in one career, they are unlocked on others as well, but I'm not 100% on that. I'm not talking style, just asthetic type. generic has a few colours and UFC on it, but I'm looking to unlock shorts that look like real muay thai shorts because of the design.

At the end of the day though, the camps aren't much of a big deal, but they are scheduel'd in your calendar so there is some strategy to it. (since it takes stamina, and you don't get attribute points either)

                    Wow!

I'm having so much fun w/ the career. I'm 19-5
2 wins via decision, 3tko's and the rest ko's. I had one ko w/ 3 seconds left, and another w/ about 30 seconds left. my losses are 2 ko's and 3 submissions.

I now have my first title shot against bisbing! My muay thai/judo fighter is tailor maid for boxer/wrestlers, but bisbing has high kicks, so i'm nervous - plus he could submit my arse.

I feel like the whole thing so far is very legit. I haven't been able to string more than 5 or 6 wins in a row, but I've avenged every loss just like sugar ray robinson!

the career gets better and better as you progress.

Despite some minor shortcommings they really hit a home run w/ this game...it reminds me of civilization, I just can't put it down and have to keep progressing.

Here's hoping i have what it takes to be the champ!

Now, compare it to what we were originally shown.

                      http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3...ufc-2009/22433

I mean in the E3 vid it actually looked like the fighters each had there specific fighting nuances and personalities.

This game is still fun to play with friends, but the more I play it the more let down I am. Guess I just expected to much this time around.
                      <!-- / message -->

you might have expected too much, but i think you do have a point to a certain extent.

I mean, it would be great for every fighter to be truly different when they kick, but the attributes do take care of that too.

                      For example in the demo.

Liddell has better strikes offense and defense, so when I play agaisnt him, he is much more dangerous when he strikes because he has more of a chance of the flash KO. This also holds true when I'm using him as i have won more by 1st round KOs by Liddell a lot more than when using Rua. Rua on the other hand has bad strikes defense when compared to Liddell, and it's very obvious that I can score more punches on him than the other way around.

Liddell also has a spinning backfist, the overhand right and the superman punch which do more damage than any of Rua's strikes because of his high standing strikes offense.

Their tendencies also play a big factor. When i play against Rua, he tries the takedown much more than Liddell. Liddell rarely takes me down because he prefers the stand-up. Another differentiating factor.

Lastly, the Machida video that I saw ( posted pg 10 of this thread) sold me on player differentiation. Look at how he fought, he backpedaled, defended uber conservatively and relied on counter striking when the opponent missed. My buddy also said, machida is the hardest player in the game to score points on because of his extremely well rounded defensive stats as well as his conservative , no-risk approach.

It's not perfect like you said, but it's A LOT better and much more than I anticipated before I played the demo.

If you wanted to make Jon Jones you'd have to start him at 14 years old!
You need to be able to make a fighter and just give them the points so you'd be able to make already established fighters. Also should be able to take someone already in the game through career without having to build them up. Have like a TUF mode for people that want to start from scratch and I guess the other could be called PPV mode for people that want to play as GSP and Forrest and all that.

I'm not the person you were asking, but he just means the ref stopped the fight because the other guy was injured and not defending properly. Have you not had a TKO win in the demo? I've had several.

Because he's 21 so would have to start at 14 if he aged. Therefore if career mode fighters aged assuming 18 is the youngest you're allowed to make then the youngest fighter you'd be able to come out with would be 25.
