10-0 with a title shot coming up now. I'm excited about that.

I looked up my overall rating, though, and I'm rated a 47, and I'm crushing fighters rated in the mid to high 80's. That doesn't sit well with me. The AI needs some massive work in this game.

Overall rating *really* doesnt matter. I've been KO'd by Keith Jardine and Houston Alexander with a much higher rated fighter because he isnt too good on his feet, likewise i've beaten Brock Lesnar with a much lower rated fighter because he isnt too good on his back.

It's all in how you play and knowing fighters strengths and weaknesses.

Which is a major problem - ratings really need to come into play more.

Yeah, no doubt. I mean, you'd never see a scrub like Jardine beat Chuck in real life, or Forrest Griffin beat Shogun or Rampage. And in the game a guy like Serra could beat GSP. I mean, come on!

MMA is unpredictable. I think ratings meaning too much would be a mistake.

Individual ratings mean alot, overall not so much.

Fluke fights happen, and then the fighter gets his head straight and comes back and destroys the person to redeem themselves - just like GSP did, they fight 8 more times to make it 10 fights and GSP wins those 8; flukes happen here and there, not constantly.

Ratings need way more impact, or they don't matter. Why should I bother leveling my CAF if I don't need to? What's the point of having ratings if they don't matter - why not just have nothing? If a guy with his ground game rated in the 30's is passing the guard of a guy in the 90's with no problems then there's obviously a problem, no? Shouldn't there be some realism or challenge? Isn't the point of having numbers associated with the fighter to give them strengths and weaknesses, and to make things more realistic? And if I'm weak in something, then shouldn't I be at a great disadvantage to someone who's extremely strong at it?

As opposed to - oh, you're rated 60 points more than me in grappling... ok - 'guard, half-guard, full-mount, KO'...

I've actually been purposely not getting mount, and instead doing light ground and pound, and standing up with fighters I have no business standing up with - and I'm knocking them out.

Are you playing on expert?, because I find it quite difficult to gain mount on just advanced....the CPU reverses alot of ground transition attempts.

I'm not sure career mode has a clear, consistent difficulty level throughout. I noticed in my career that the fights early on were ridiculously easy, but later in my career, those same fighters got much better. I got the impression that the career mode played with the difficulty level you set and kinda scaled it based on your ratings. So even if you were on advanced, it might not actually be advanced until your ratings were a little bit more in line. That was my impression at least.

I doubt that becuz I was losing to the scrubs on beginner(knew just the basics then)the difference just may be the ratings of fighters

Altho one fighter did seem more skilled when I face him when ranked 15 vs him ranked @ 20...So I could be wrong...

That's why I mentioned I noticed the same fighters getting more proficient throughout the course of my career.

When I fought Karo they mentioned we were training partners in the pre-fight e-mails so that was coo. I was the only one that got a judo throw in. Also finally got my first sub,he counters my 2nd throw attempt into a RnC wich I easily escape (strength maxed at 85 now) and I'm on my feet,he's down and I put on a leg lock and tap him out. After that it was Alves again and the usual dodge, dodge, dodge, head kick.

You know what kind of disappointed me?

Picking to train with Kenny Florian, then having him just sit there for the menu and disappear when my actual training comes along.

Why the hell would I pick a fighter to train with if he's not going to train with me? They need to stay in the ring and help you train - that would be fun.
