Re: Frank Mir made himself look stupid. I can smell his fear.
This comes from someone who mostly posts new threads about anything anti UFC. Fact is, the UFC has the only names that Fedor has after Barnette. The entire HW division of MMA is in sorry shape, and an argument could be made that every HW is overrated based on that fact.Comment

Re: Frank Mir made himself look stupid. I can smell his fear.
Fedor is NOT the GOAT. Until he comes to the UFC it will not be.
Now I do feel if he did come to the UFC, he would run through the HW division. I would like to see Lesnar and him fight.
But with that said he has already beat some of the better UFC fighters in the HW division.
Key wins
Big Nog x2 - 2003/2004 - Unanimous decision both times
Herring - 2002 - TKO
Coleman x2 - 2004 - Submission (armbar) both times
Randleman - 2004 - Submission (armbar)
Cro Cop - 2005 - unanimous decision
T. Sylvia - 2008 - submission (RnC)
A. Arlovski - 2009 - KO
Who he has left
Mir
Lesnar (HW Champ)
Kongo
Gonzage
Anyone say Couture has got to be joking. He is past his time by far.
But anyone on that list Fedor would run through, so yea I consider him the best HW right now.Last edited by Titus001; 06-04-2009, 03:00 PM.GO BUCKS!Comment

Now the first part, YES I am saying he is NOT the GOAT. He is great but until he comes into the UFC and shows that he is the HW champ then it is a mute point to say he is the GOAT when he has not fought in the greatest organization in the world.
The second part about GSP and Silva I have no idea what you are trying to say.Comment

this is a goat:
So what the hell are you people talking about? I'm pretty sure it's obvious Fedor isn't a goat.Comment

I honestly have no idea how to reply because it makes no sense to me.

that would be funny if the tattoo even somewhat resembled a penis, but it doesn't and all the 3-1 record means is that he's new, he could very easily have a 15-1 record if he keeps progressing the way he is.Comment

You start with this crap of putting words in my mouth and it is end of conversation. I don't have time for immature people. If you can't act like a adult and have a adult conversation, then go play with the kiddies.Comment

The biggest concern I have with MMA is that people are starting to put organizations over the fighters. Now that UFC has blown up and the propoganda train has gone in full force trying to push itself as MMA Kleenex, people want to think of it was the NBA, MLB, NFL of the sport. If you don't fight in the UFC, you aren't legit and it's not just the feeling I get here, but it's what I get from casual fans. I don't hear, "You train MMA?", but "You train UFC?".
That's a great move and outstanding marketing by the UFC, but it is wrong for the sport to think of other top organizations like they're the D-League or Canadian Football League.
The "Who else does he fight after Barnett?" argument is a fine argument, but if he retired after this fight not fighting in the UFC should not be black mark on his career. For wrestling fans, do you think less of Sting for not going to WWE?
Bah, why bother.Comment

Re: Frank Mir made himself look stupid. I can smell his fear.
Great fighters transcend organizations. Beating numerous elite HWs over your career means something, but fighting lesser HWs in a bigger organization will really cement a fighter's status as an elite? That makes no sense.

Re: Frank Mir made himself look stupid. I can smell his fear.
I understand the whole organization debate. But the UFC does have the high crop of "better" fighters. So while their are great fighters who start out in different organizations, most the top of each class end up at the UFC.
You have the best from all over the world coming into the UFC. So to say Fedor is the best when he has not fought Lesnar, Mir, and other high ranking Heavy weights is out of line.
That is like saying that a Candiana football team is the greatest in the world, but they still have not played the New england Pats.
So while you can talk about the organization debate. Maybe you fail to see ALL the top fighters end up at the UFC......Why??? Because they can becomes rich. Simple and true.Comment
